Filtering: Record Filter looking for word with spaces?
  • Nemesis February 17, 2014 5:40AM
    Hi,

I want to filter a list contains a word " CLO " i.e with blank SPACE in front and back but Visokio won't let me do it, it uses "CLO" without spaces as the only input. Is there any wildcard character to do this??

I have been searching this using below Excel forumla:

    =IF(OR(ISNUMBER(SEARCH({" word1 "," word2 "," word3 "}," "&A1&" "))),"YES","NO")

You can use wildcard * in the Search/Replace block in the DataManager space.
In order to build a 'flag' showing which record contains the target word, you should duplicate the text field in the Field Organiser, then use Search/Replace to look for " clo ". See the image and demo attached. This flag can then be used for record filtering in either DataManager or DataExplorer space. One thing you should be aware of is that Omniscope will on import from a source automatically 'trim' the values that contain spaces at the end, assuming this is surplus.
