Table View: Grouping & 'Contains' function issue
  •     JfJf August 29, 2012 8:12AM
Hi - I am using the Contain formula inside a conditional to group data i.e., from a group of items I want to create a 3 groups #1 group named "Group 1" = contains the text "group1", #2 group named "Group 2" = contains the text "group2", #3 group named "Other" = everything else that doesn't have the "group1" or "group2" text.

The problem that I am having is that when I put the values in a table, and group them by the category function I've created, the 3 categories are isolated properly, but the name value that appears on the table is "Other", which is the group I've created to include everything else that is not in group 1 & 2. Instead of the 3 categories: 'Group 1', 'Group 2' and 'Others'.

Some help on this would be appreciated! Thank you, JF

For text fields you can try using different grouping functions - Unique values list, Unique values count... That will give you idea if your values are hidden.

Hi Paola, thank you, I ended up doing a merge to isolate the values.
