Export: Details View data?
  •     dpawley November 17, 2015 11:01AM
When clicking on data and then selecting to view details of selected records. When the box pops up, is there a way, or an option to export this visible data?

It would be a good addition if this isn't possible

    Thanks

I'm assuming you are in the DataExplorer, and you wish to export selected data (only) in the table format?
In this case you can add a Table view, with Data Subset setting : Selected data
    Option in the Table view:
    Tools>Admin>Export view data
    should do exactly that.

    Hi Paula

We could do this, however, for a user of a dashboard, when interacting with charts and graphs. We want the user to be able to select charts (highlight them), then right click and view details in table. Usually, there is no option download the pop up window in to Excel.

Just wondered if we can export these records?

    Thanks

    Danny

    Solution for the Server license:
One of your dashboard views (doesn't have to be a Table view), could be set to show selected data. From that view's Tools>Admin>export view data

    Solution for the Desktop license:
Add a floating Table view (see image, select the pop-up icon next to the Table view), resize it, so it does not affect appearance of your dashboard, set it to show selected data.
The users opening the file in the Viewer, will be able to copy/paste the data from the floating view into Excel (Ctrl+A to select all records)

Thanks Paola, this will help get through the issue we have. It's a shame you can't select to view the details as a pop up window so you can copy the data, rather than constantly having it floating about.

    Thanks anyway
