RSS authentication

Hi there

I'm trying to use the 'custom feed source' in data manager to connect to an authenticated sydication feed. I'm getting the following error:

ym: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: h?t?t?p?s?:?/?/***************

(this is for a URL that works fine in a browser)

Presumably this means the connector doesn't support authentication? If not, are there any plans to change this?

Hi Scott,

Does your 'https://' resource require a username and password? We do not provide direct support for entering a username/password in the 'custom feed' source, however you could try hard-coding them using the following URL structure:

https://username:password@address

Please note that your username and password will be visible inside the IOK file, so you may want to password protect the file itself if the data is sensitive.

Thanks for your help, although this doesn't work - I get the following error:

ym: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid uri '?h?t?t?p?s?:?/?/?************?:***************?@****************?'?: invalid port number

Do you have any other suggestions?
