Formula: Scaling values in Field Organiser...or separate Formula field?

In DataManager, where you have a Field Organiser block, if you have a data field that is a decimal number and you would like to multiple this by 100 or 200, to show in the report, can I just add a scaling formula in the field or do I need to create a whole new formula field to calculate this.
I want to just convert the number from Hectolitres to Litres.

Currently, you need to use a separate formula field to scale values but there is no problem hiding the original un-scaled column/field throughout the file.
