We are currently building dashboards for our client. They were going to use Omniscope Viewer to see these dashboards. However it has become apparent, that the client will start to use Deskstop Anywhere - i.e. hot desk set up.
The issue is how can we distribute these reports now, with the same flexibility that the Viewer allows? Their IT have said they want to limit the software/apps that are installed onto all desktops, so we can't install it across the board. Is there a web based version of Omniscope Viewer? We can suggest installing Viewer on to some deskstops, but this would defeat the hot desk set up.
I think Web Start deployment could solve your problem. You just publish your file on the web and your clients choose zero footprint installation. What your client need is only installed Java. See http://www.visokio.com/kb/webstart.
Shaji - The Omniscope Viewer is a free, perpetual, general-purpose interactive data Viewer, analagous from an IT desktop administrators' viewpoint to the Adobe Acrobat free PDF Reader. Have you told your client's IT that Omniscope is general-purpose, for all types of data sets, and that they can add the Omniscope Viewer to ALL their hot-desking desktops for free...just like they do Acrobat Reader?
