Formulae: UPPER function usage to change text case?

Hi - I have a formula:

UPPER(IF([Norm Vendor]=NULL,[Supplier Name],[Norm Vendor]))

However, this is not upper-casing the result of the IF statement.
Is there a way round this? Using 2.6b237

Seems to work as expected. See attached. What's different?

There was a bug with formulas when the data set is not updated when only character case is changed - e.g. "abC" to "ABC".
This shall be fixed in the next nightly build 2.8-alpha b474.
