I have multiple files on my server. I want to make them accessible to customers via web. I was trying to do it through WebStart.

    1. How do I make the file accessible?
    2. How do I get a visokio url. for example. http://www.visokio.com/files/
    3. Do i need to export these files to a web server from the DB first?
    4. Maybe a phone call would help explain better ..Thanks

    Hi,

There are 3 ways to achieve it:

    1) use the "Publish Omniscope file on visokio.com" Omniscope utility, that allows you to save an IOK file on our publicly accessible Server; It is accessible through menu File>Export>"Publish Omniscope file on visokio.com"

    2) use the "Custom Executable Jar" Omniscope utility, available for users of the Server Plus license, that allows you to create a free Viewer with a bundled data file; then you can upload the jar on a publicly accessible web location (e.g. a Dropbox folder). It is accessible through menu Settings>Advanced>Miscellaneous>"Create custom Jar"

    3) use the JNLP link builder function (available on the download page of Omniscope Online), that allows you to create a launch web link (Java Web Start) with your own configuration, including the file to open.

At last in all cases all you have to do is send the link to customers.
