Pie View: Othering in Pie Views?

This can help us to reduce the number of brands within a Bar chart to a number specified by the user by selecting Stack, Options, Exclude Values by Fixed Limit and specifying how many you wish to show plus one for the accumulation of the rest of the them. If we can have this on Pie charts, it would be useful.

Omar - a re-write of the Pie View is scheduled for version 2.8, at which time it will automatically acquire this feature.

    Hi Thomas,

I was wondering if there was any thought on if this could be added to 2.7 experimental features as I have a number of pie charts that are over complicated due to the number of active categories?

    Thanks

Thomas - As a work-around, you can use 'top-N' ranking formulae fields and subset functions to set flags that determine which Brands/Categories are actually split by in the PIe View. Brands which are not 'top N' would be flagged "Other" and appear as a single wedge in the pie for the purposes of that view.

An example of a 'top N' ranking formula is here:

Othering has been added in 2.8 Pie view. Please also have a look for other new features in 2.8 Pie View here:
