Naming periodic output files saved to batch folders

If I have daily output files being archived for longer-term analysis in future, how can I configure automated saves in an archive batch folder such that the file names include some indication of time period? This would stop each daily file from overwriting its predecessor, and also ensure that the Source field added by the batch append will be useful for filtering timespans.

If you have Omniscope Enterprise, you can use the Scheduler to create timestamped files - see the "Create timestamp" action. You may be able to get this to do what you want.

But we'll consider adding this feature directly within DataManager in a future version.

    Hi,

We had now added the ability to timestamp a file in the 'File output' and 'Email output' blocks in DataManager. To use this functionality select 'Add filename timestamp'. You will have the option to modify the format used, so you can adjust the granularity of the timestamp from years down to seconds. Please note that some formats will be invalid because they contain characters which aren't allowed in a filename. If this is the case a warning will be shown.
