Filter Type 'Range Slider' -> Alternative: 2 Fields to define '1st' + 'last' of range?

We would prefer such a filter type to define a period by date: dd.mm.yyyy.
-> Or is there existing a similar solution?

Not sure what you mean - you can create formula fields to show the last or first date of any range of dates using the SUBSET_MAX and SUBSET_MIN functions, but then you end up with 2 fields that have one value in each, so not very useful for filtering. Please elaborate.

On a timeline the view contains daily data of one year and normally shows the whole graph.
With a Range Slider it's not easy to pick the first and the last date, if the detailed graph should show only a period of perhaps 1 week 13 days.
What I would prefer is: two fields where I could type in the start and the end date of the chosen range.

You can type the start and end date by clicking on the numbers in the slider.
