Customise import behaviour
  •     sdhayes October 21, 2010 4:12PM
    I have a file with þ as a separator.
When opening into an omniscope I can customise the import behaviour to handle this.
However, I can't appear to set this in a datamanager flow as the initial step
ie the first thing I need to do is import with the þ parameter, and then go on to some more advanced functions

So you started Omniscope, and clicked the DataManager icon, and found yourself with an empty DataManager (bar the Omniscope block)?

And you dragged on your data file?

You should be able to expand the file block and put in the separator here. Click "Load" to load data into Omniscope views, or link up to further operations.

If opening directly in Omniscope, you need to tick "Customise import options" in the file dialog, whereupon you'll get the same configuration options to put in your separator.

Stuart - this is known as a Unicode 'Thorne' character...please visit:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorn_(letter)

This page shows you how to generate the separator character from various keyboards (what, you don't have an Icelandic keyboard?).
