Suggestion

would it be possible to have the legend open when the iok file is opened, rather then the user having to activate it. Either in its exisiting form or as a new type of pane to slloe it to be placed on the screen.

Do you mean the colour key? In 2.6 it now does.

I am pleased to tell you that from build 2.6-alpha b351 onwards you will be able to show colour keys in Pie View based on Split by field.

However, the default behaviour of colour keys in Pie View will be different, it will be turned OFF by default, whereas it is ON in other views that support colour keys. You can turn colour keys on/off in a particular view from Tools > Toolbars and styles > Colour keys.

The Pie View colours by split-by values as the only option. It also shows a label for each slice. It's generally not visually appealing to have both colour keys and labels showing in the Pie View, so there will be a new option to complement the colour keys in the Pie View using the > Show labels option in the Tools menu of the Pie View toolbar.
