Hiya - We have Omniscope on a 30 day trial. Is there a method of connecting the Data Manager to an SAP BW InfoCube on another server? Thanks in advance. Mike

Hi - Thanks for your question.

In Omniscope 2.6 you can connect to an OLAP data cube provided the OLAP server supports XMLA. XMLA is a web standard method for connecting to multi dimensional data sources over HTTP. Once you have set up XMLA access you should have a URL that can be used in combination with the username/password to connect to the server. XMLA uses the MDX query language, which is similar to SQL. I am unfamiliar with SAP BW InfoCube however I have had a look on the Internet and it appears that it does support XMLA, although this may not be setup with the default installation.

To connect to the OLAP cube select 'File > Connect to OLAP cube'. In the dialog enter the OLAP server URL, Username and Password then click the 'Connect' button. Once connected you will be able to pick a cube and select the dimensions/measures to retrieve. At the moment Omniscope only allows you to select a single dimension, however we intend to provide the ability to select multiple dimensions and your own custom MDX statements in a future release.

    Regards, Chris
