Images: Downloading .jpg or other files from a list of URLs?

I have generated a list of URLs each of which pulls down a .jpg file from the Web.
My question is whether there is a way to pull those files into a folder using Omniscope and then add metadata?

If the pull of the .jpg file is not possible using Omniscope, can anyone recommend any opensource code for doing this ?

Omniscope can be used to download data from a web location, but not images.
Once you've extracted the images (using another tool) you will be able to create the image set and combine it with data inside Omniscope.
