To the far right of the cycling toolbar, after the final value, but to the left of the Value cycling tools drop down (with the wrench/spanner icon) there is a (too small) drop down menu for selecting the values to to cycle through. On this value selection menu there is an option 'Show overlay text' (which means the watermarks). Untick this option to suppress the watermarks during value cycling.
