Connector - Facebook API error?

Hi, I'm Raúl from Tinval. We get an error when trying to connect the user to Facebook block feed. The following error appears (I have attached screenshot):

Error HTTP 400

Server response: {"error":{"message":"Error validating verification code. Please make sure your redirect_uri is identical to the one you used in the OAuth dialog request","type":"OAuthException","code":100}}

The user is correct and is working (and it was previously working).

We have tested on versions 2.7 b480 and 2.8 b905.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this. We haven't changed anything on the Omniscope side, so it's possible that this is either a temporary Facebook error or there have been some changes to the login procedure. In either case we will investigate and report back.

Hi,

We have done some investigation and can confirm that this appears to be a Facebook issue. We have reported this as a bug to Facebook. Hopefully Facebook will fix this issue and this will start working again.

Raúl -

It appears that this is a general problem with Facebook API. It appears they either have a fundamental problem with their API (unlikely), or they have changed their requirements to be incompatible with the way we are making API requests.

Here is the report with Facebook, which simply prioritises as "Low" (i.e. they'll never fix it, if it is a fault):

We are continuing to investigate this and will post when we know more.

Thanks for your answer. The Facebook insigths integration is a critical process for us. We need to be sure what type of problem is (general problem with Facebook or changes in the API requests) and if it can be solved in Visokio.

We are awaiting of this issue

Raúl - it appears that Facebook changed their API in a way which broke our entirely legitimate use and without documenting this change. After some deep investigation, we've found and implemented a fix in 2.8.

We'll upload a fixed build as soon as possible, which will be 2.8 b932 or later.
