Formulae and Variables

The variables I have set up have a different value on each tab of a report - is it possible to define a global variable?

In a grouped table formulae can be calculated in as the grouping of the individual value calculated of each row, or as a function of the grouped values on the table. This property has to be set for all formulae at once. It would be useful to be able to define formulae specific to a table that calculate on the grouped table values, while other formulae work on a row basis - alternatively formulae could be flagged individually to determine how they are calculated?

Bernard - This is one of the differences between using Grouping and Aggregation. If you need to mix calculation modes and specify that only some formulae operate on aggregated values, you must specify this using the Aggregation drop-down. Choose 'Formula result' as the aggregaton function for the formula columns which should be evaluated using the aggregated data.

For the first question, create your tabs using Tab > New > From current layout (advanced), and un-tick "Variable states". All tabs created this way will no longer isolate the variable states. Switching between these tabs will have no effect on your variable values. However, whether or not a variable is showing in each tab will continue to be controlled per-tab.
