Since we've installed Java 7 version 11, the Java process on the Windows machine is eating CPU and memory. Even trying to open a block in Omniscope takes over 5 minutes. Problem occurs in both Omniscope 2.7 and 2.8 Alpha. Is there something we can do or should we return to a different Java version?
Omniscope comes bundled with Java, and uses the bundled version regardless of what you have installed on your machine. The current version of Omniscope 2.8 comes with Java 7 update 7. Unless you modify the file installconfig.properties, and explicitly specify a different Java version, Omniscope will use Java 7 update 7. (Omniscope 2.7 is bundled with Java 6 update 32.)
So the problem is not related to your installed Java version (unless you have changed the config files manually, in which case you should revert them back to the original values, and see if the problem persists).
