Sources: URL source doesn't recognize CSV?
  •     MartijnVisser January 7, 2013 10:20AM
    Hi,

I have a URL which produces a CSV file when I open it in any regular browser. If I add it to a URL source block, Omniscope reads it, but doesn't recognize it's a CSV, so I can't specify the separator etc.

Is it possible to force the type of source, seperator etc?

    Best regards, Martijn

    Hi Martijn,

    Thanks for the question.

In Omniscope 2.7 a URL had to end with the extension of the file in order for you to be able to import the data.

In Omniscope 2.8 this is no longer the case. Omniscope now checks the extension and the MIME type, and you have the option to override the file type altogether.

Would it be possible for you to test this in Omniscope 2.8 and let us know how you get on?

    Hi Chris,

Sure, how can I get access to 2.8?

    Best, Martijn

    Hi Martijn,

Omniscope 2.8 is still in Alpha, so you need to be an Alpha partner in order to use it. Can you drop support@visokio.com a quick email and ask them to upgrade you to Alpha partner status? Once you have been setup you will be send the link to access Omniscope 2.8.
