File Mgt: Automatic Back-up?

Hi all,
When saving a .iok file, Omniscope seems to create a back-up file in the same directory. After the original file has been saved completely, I expected the back-up to be deleted. This is not the case. Now our folders are filled with back-up files (see screenshot). Is this a setting in Omniscope?

Omniscope automatically removes the backup upon success. So either you have some strange case where the application is exiting unexpectedly before finishing - lots of times over - or Omniscope is unable to remove the backup.

Is this on some unusual disk location or network share with odd permissions? Does the user account have permissions to delete files in that folder? Is there another system process that might be locking newly created files, e.g. to perform a virus scan?

To debug further:

Install 2.8 b384, available from tonight / tomorrow
Enable "Settings > Advanced > Debugging & diagnostics > Debug file locking"
Reproduce the problem; be sure the backup is left around after the task has definitely completed successfully
In the same application instance, report an error via "Help > Error reporting > Report a problem", pasting in this forums page address
Disable the setting made in step 2.
