Professional Edition

Salesforce.com Professional edition no longer includes API for application integration. The Force.com Professional and Developer edition includes API. I was able to connect with my Force.com account, but not the Salesforce.com Professional License. Any thoughts on Omniscope definitely working with non-API Salesforce editions?

George- API access from Salesforce Professional Editions is not 'on' by default (as it is for higher editions) but Salesforce can enable it so you can use a direct-connecting 'hybrid' web/desktop local client like Omniscope. You can use your Force.com account to download/refresh local copies of reports as Omniscope files, then refresh multiple copies in Omniscopes from the central downloaded IOK 'datamart', rather than everyone having to hit the SF API via the direct connector to get the latest data. Live sychronisation of data objectsfor scrubbing/editing in Omniscope will always require API access from the machine doing the editing.

Another option is to use our web connector available from the AppExchange. This installs a new Visokio Reports tab in your Salesforce account(s), and allows you to configure IOK report templates and upload the empty template files for on-demand refresh/download by anyone with access to your org, even free Viewer users of Omniscope. The web connector option works even from non-API-enabled Salesforce Group and Professional Editions.
