Idea: Filtering-Date filters in Calendar format?

I have just a quick question concerning Omniscope – is it somehow possible to have the date filter in form of a calendar? So that it is immediately clear, which day of the week a particular day is, and the number of the week...

I didnt find any such option, but maybe it would be an interesting suggestion to your developers :)

Omar - If you duplicate the [Date] fields and re-format the display of the Date/Time values using format masks like 'EEEE' (name of day of week) or 'w' (week number), you can see these values displayed. If you then duplicate these fields and change the data type to Text/Category, you can use category filters and put the values in any order....like weeks starting different days, or week numbers in reverse chronological order to display reverse time comparisons in the Bar/Line View, etc. You can also run parallel flows in DataManager and use Search/Replace blocks to translate the names of the days of week to other languages, etc.

    See attached example file.

Thomas, that is indeed an option. However, a disadvantage is the increased number of columns in the dataset. The idea provided by OmarKhan would be very useful I think. Especially in case of dates, the date selection is a good alternative to the slider filter.

OK, I have converted this to an Idea...somewhat related to this is a planned Calendar View, as well as the option to display (a to be expanded menu of) filter devices/query summaries directly under views, rather than only on the Sidebars...see these related Ideas and vote for these as well.

Remember that you can hide a field/column from all Views, yet still use it to filter from the Sidebar...
