Idea: DataManager - Remove fields in Deduplicate block?

The Aggregate DM block has the option to remove unneeded fields...very useful. Is it possible to add this option to the Deduplicate DM block as well? In terms of efficient workflow configuration.... it saves a Field Organiser block

    Thanks - A

We don't think it fits into the De-dup block UI very easily, unlike Aggregate.

There is already a field selector in the Deduplicate block, which allows you to select which fields define a unique record. We would need another field selector to determine which fields were passed through, which might be slightly confusing.

Hi Chris, thanks for the answer. Apologies for not reacting a bit sooner, but better late ....

I disagree a little with you answer. The confusing part can be avoided easilty by a proper field description. Data Manager is a great instrument and stimulates users to enter more and more data as one dataset. It is then essential to improve the efficiency of the workflows. Integrating functionality of various data blocks supports this goal.
