Command line options to open template with new data
  • wconroy June 11, 2012 2:05PM
I have a template .iok file that I would like to launch from the command line passing it a csv file for its data. Ideally it would do the same thing as opening the template file, then importing the data using the data->edit source. Are there command line options to be able to do this?

Conroy - Your Server licenses have an unlimited Batch Publishing feature that uses an external Batch Control IOK file to enable you to specify source files, empty or stale IOK template files to refresh, personalisations for file recipients, e-mail content etc. etc. etc. Just add a Batch Publishing Task to the Scheduler Task List and fill in the Batch Control IOK file referenced in the Task List.

Omniscope 2.8, available to alpha-partners shortly, now supports DataManager parameters for file paths/URLs.

You will be able to use this to launch from the command line and refresh from a different source.
