Sorting a network view
  •     sdhayes July 3, 2009 2:35PM
    I have a list of ~30 records. These have a red-amber-green coding.
I can sort the data in table view, but want the network view to be sorted, so that all the green nodes are sequential, then the amber, followed by the red
I cannot see a way to sort the network view, other than pasting in the pre-sorted data from table view into a new file?

    Thank you for your question.

Could you let me know what type of network you are using (Grouped or Relational)?

    Regards

    Chris

    Relational (the 2nd option)
Column 1 is the name of the source system at which a data feed arrives
Column 2 is a constant (ie the marketing database)
    Thanks

Unfortunately you cannot change the layout order of nodes in a relational network.

We are planning to introduce functionality (probably in Omniscope 2.6) that will allow you specify a field to order the nodes by. This will work in the same way that you can choose to 'Colour by' or 'Size by' a particular field using a dropdown in the view toolbar. If you need this functionality urgently please contact Visokio directly.

In the meantime you can rearrange the nodes manually by clicking and dragging the node to a new position.
