Omniscope is a Java application. We have never been asked to support SOCKS before, but Java does support it.

The following Oracle page provides information on java networking and proxies. It contains a section on configuring SOCKS:

In order to configure Omniscope you would need to modify the installconfig.properties file (see http://www.visokio.com/kb/installconfig) and add an additional JVM argument, for example:

ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-DsocksProxyHost=socks.mydomain.com
