Having been a Windows man since '92 I finally installed Ubuntu 6 months ago and now spend as much time there as I can (dragged back into Windows for Omniscope!)... so I would love to be able to run Omniscope Pro / Ent on Ubuntu... get's a vote from me.
The priority for a linux version would be to support use on (text-only) servers; initially we might not provide, for example, a web view in the linux version, but would still aim to provide an otherwise fully featured desktop version. Most requests for linux versions have been for server editions.
We run a linux webserver and mySQL server in a remote datacenter and we would like at some stage to run Omniscope Server on the same machine in order to give fast/realtime access to mySQL data files. Right now we would need to rent a second windows server in the same datacenter which is expensive. So I vote for the Linux license activation.
We have a customer who will purchase an Omniscope Server license right now (subject to satisfactory trial) if it is available to run on a Linux server. Also would purchase two or three Desktop licenses for Windows.
Do you have any estimate as to when Linux activation might be available?
