Most people in our organisation will reconcile their work to SSAS Cubes, and we have often needed to make workarounds to report the same data, such as replicating the Cube from the underling Warehouse. This creates heartbreaking duplication of logic and exposes us to the risk of missing out logic built between the Warehouse and Cube.

It would be good to know if SSAS Cubes will be a supported connector in Omniscope 3.0.

For example, I would like to use Stephen Few's recommended color palette for data visualization (http://www.mulinblog.com/a-color-palette-optimized-for-data-visualization/) for a pie chart that splits measures by field F. The different values of F being loaded into the dashboard change depending on the client and are impossible to anticipate.

I have managed to set these colors for every other view in my dashboard except the ones where colors apply to ever changing values. The settings available in Omniscope present a problem as neither continuous colors nor category colors offer a way of simply setting up a fixed palette.

My proposal/idea is to implement a "palette" setting with say, nine customizable colors and - when applied to a view - assign those colors in sequence from highest aggregated measure to lowest. Maybe even offer an option of assigning colors by sort (ascending, descending, alphabetical, etc.).

Input data is stored in a csv file, it has a daily changing number of columns (say 20-25), 10 of which have fixed names while the rest are named with dates. I want to de-pivot only the date-named columns.

The problem is that the number and names of the date columns change daily. Hence a simple de-pivot operation doesn't work once the data has been changed. Ideally I want a de-pivot option where it de-pivots all the columns apart from the selected ones.

Is it possible to achieve such de-pivoting in Omniscope some way? And if not would an option 'de-pivot everything apart from selected columns' be possible to include into de-pivot operation?

P.S. I tried every combination of operations I thought might lead me somewhere, and almost got the result, but in Summarise operation selecting "All fields" doesn't keep all the fields selected after the field names changed, the way that most other operations work. We are making an inventory of all our datamanager workflows. We would like to take the next step in version management, weak spots, data load etc.
One of the items we are registering is the amount of datamanager blocks, as a derivative of the workflow complexity.
How can we (except for manual counting) easily find the number of blocks in a datamanager file?
If anyone has experience in this matter, please contact me.

In Omniscope 2.9 the Web, News, Image and Video search blocks currently use the Bing search service. On December 15th these will no longer work, as Microsoft has released a new API: Microsoft Cognitive Services Search.

If you are a user of any of these blocks please get in touch. We need to identify who needs these services in order to determine whether to develop a new suite of blocks in Omniscope 3.0. We also need to identify how these blocks are being used (what other blocks are in your workflow) to ensure a seamless migration.

We find that this can vary depending on if the report is in desktop or in mobile but principally we have situations where we would like to control what labels based on the two following scenarios:

- A data set has some very large and small values that we wish to display but they are all abbreviated as 'millions' rather than millions and then K's (see attached image)
- A customer request to tweak 'M' to 'MM' for example (http://www.accountingcoach.com/blog/what-does-m-and-mm-stand-for)

I tried turning off selection brushing, however this does not appear to work when viewing the mobile version of the file. I also tried de-querying by the splits used in the other views in the tab, but this also did not seem to work in mobile.

However a user needs the functionality to be able to see further detail in some instances. If the user could trigger a parametrised SQL query to reload/refresh the data with one or more parameters set, it would enable an additional, more granular and personalised view of that data that would be ideal.

For instance, the user is looking at monthly data of some sort. Daily data would be unmanageable and unnecessary as the dataset would contain tens of millions of rows. The error message we’re getting is “no cubes found on the selected OLAP server” – we have a few tabular models deployed on the server and have been able to verify the connection to the cubes in excel, so it seems something isn’t picking them up in Omniscope.
