If "mean" is chosen as the function, is there a way to specify a weighting field, as would be possible when directly applying a function to the field in a table. If not could this be added?

Thanks,

Bernard

Idea: Defining default weighting fields for each column? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2791/idea-defining-default-weighting-fields-for-each-columns Wed, 17 Dec 2014 05:32:00 -0500 Mees 2791@/discussions
I have a Bar/Line View where I measure averages.

Defining on which field to weight the average is working fine, but when we switch the value to another field, Omniscope loses the weighting of the initial field. Going back to the initial value measure, we have to set the weighting again.
This is not ideal as we want our users not to worry about this.

Would it be possible to define the weighting settings per field in the Field Settings (the Ctrl+F menu, not sure what the English menu name is)

Many thanks

Also, when doing a weighted average in the Bar View, after stacking the bars, the figure displayed at the top of the bars are the sum of the stacking buckets. How can I make the figures on top of the bars to display an overall weighted average?

Thanks

Aggregation: Calculating weighted means? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2687/aggregation-calculating-weighted-meanss Fri, 15 Aug 2014 08:40:24 -0400 Alexander 2687@/discussions
I am encountering a problem that I am aggregating a rather large dataset, but I am not able to choose a weight for the fields that I want to result as the average of the aggregated data.

Do you get what I mean?

The same problem is occuring as discussed in http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2606/aggregation-why-are-some-fields-not-editables.

Please advise.

The problem is that I need to weight my mean values to arrive at the correct figure. Is there a simple solution?

Aggregation: DM block - single average record unweighted? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1882/aggregation-dm-block-single-average-record-unweighteds Thu, 01 Nov 2012 14:11:54 -0400 ygulla 1882@/discussions
I need to aggregate all records into one "total" row. Field A needs to aggregate as an average weighted by Field B.

When I drop in an Aggregation block, don't select any splits and the choose function for Field A to be mean and the weight to be Field B. The resulting value is unexpected... the result seems to be an unweighted mean?

NB: to make it work I had to add a constant field One (equals 1 for all records) and "split" by it.

See attached file for a trivial example.

Edit: I use 2.7 b441 x64]]>
