So in 2013 quarter 1 we spent £50, in quarter 2 we spent £70 with the period total then being £50 + £70 = £120. I would then compare 2014 quarter 1 against 2013 quarter 1in the pivot.

Apologies if this is simple I just couldn't seem to get it to work using the Running Total formula.

Thanks, Steve]]>

Formulae: Cumulative Figures and RUNNINGTOTAL example http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2114/formulae-cumulative-figures-and-runningtotal-example Wed, 01 May 2013 02:00:44 -0400 windsymphonic 2114@/discussions
Company Name | Date | Daily Sales
ABC | 22/03/2013 | 22
ABC | 22/03/ 2013 | 23
ABC | 23/03/ 2013 | 40
ABC | 23/03/ 2013 | 50
DEF | 22/03/2013 | 10
DEF | 22/03/2013 | 20
DEF | 23/03/2013 | 30
DEF | 23/03/2013 | 60

In Omniscope, I have aggregated by Company Name & Date which gives me:

Company Name | Date | Daily Sales
ABC | 22/03/2013 | 45
ABC | 23/03/2013 | 90
DEF | 22/03/2013 | 30
DEF | 23/03/2013 | 90

My next step is to calculate cumulative sales by company name & date. So I want my outcome to be:

Company Name | Date | Daily Sales | Cumulative Sale
ABC | 22/03/2013 | 45 | 45
ABC | 23/03/2013 | 90 | 135
DEF | 22/03/2013 | 30 | 30
DEF | 23/03/2013 | 90 | 120

So how do I derive the cumulative sales?

Formulae: RUNNINGTOTAL sorting issue? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2082/formulae-runningtotal-sorting-issues Thu, 04 Apr 2013 09:07:03 -0400 cpvk 2082@/discussions
I have a question on the function RUNNINGTOTAL, and wondering if anyone could help.

I want to add Sales cash cumulatively by week for a particular SKU/Year combination.

I have the following formula in a field called "Cumulative Spend"

RUNNINGTOTAL([Sales Cash],SUBSET2([Sku],[Year]),false)

So this adds by year/SKU, but not in the right week order. I've tried to do a sort on the data-set to help. But was wondering if there was a smarter way. I have just downloaded the latest 2.8 version this morning.

Basically, it sort of works, but it doesn't add in Week order. Is there any way to make this happen?

Thanks]]>
RUNNINGTOTAL() http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1659/runningtotal Tue, 17 Jul 2012 17:24:38 -0400 aknotts 1659@/discussions
I am using the runningtotal() function and I can't get it to work exactly as I want it. I have a column of countries, corresponding suppliers and amounts spend with each supplier in each country. I have aggregated the the table by country, supplier and um of amount and ordered it by country (asc), amount (desc) so the results look like this:

UK, M&S, 1000
UK, IBM, 950
UK, Tesco, 850
Germany, VW, 2000
Germany, Audi, 1950
Germany, Mercedes, 1800

I want to put a running sum on this aggregated view so it sums the amounts in spend order eg:

UK, M&S, 1000, 1000
UK, IBM, 950, 1950
UK, Tesco, 850, 2800
Germany, VW, 2000, 2000
Germany, Audi, 1950, 3950
Germany, Mercedes, 1800, 5750

When I so the runningtotal I can't get it to sum in the correct order. How can I do this?

Thanks

Andy

Ranking: Suppliers by total spend? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/847/ranking-suppliers-by-total-spends Mon, 27 Jun 2011 09:47:19 -0400 gilgorev 847@/discussions
A good example would be to look at the Visokio example on http://www.visokio.com/kb/subset-functions-2-5:
How do I add a column to it that will show the number 1 against John Swires and 2 against Anne Campbell, reflecting their ranking in terms of total spend?

Thanks!
