Situation: a Yes/No field that has [Filter type] = "list of Categories".

When changing the source file in DM, this field is changed and moved to the Yes/No fields tickboxes.
Normally this shouldn't be a problem, but in our case it is because it is a frozen field selection.
When moved to the Yes/No fields tickboxes it isn't frozen any more and our endusers receive a error message.

How can we solve this problem?
Many thanks

Filters: Not hidden in browser version views? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2905/filters-not-hidden-in-browser-version-viewss Mon, 13 Apr 2015 07:03:49 -0400 Panos 2905@/discussions
I have created a dashboard on the desktop environment and I share thus dashboard online through the web server link. However on the web view I can see more filters on the sidebar, despite the fact that I have these filters unselected on the offline dashboard.

Thanks,

Idea: Enhanced devices - categories and dividers http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2825/idea-enhanced-devices-categories-and-dividers Wed, 21 Jan 2015 10:29:28 -0500 CRead 2825@/discussions - some users want to control variables and filters (power users).
- other users want to control filters only (simple users).
- a third set of users only accesses the report occasionally, and wants filters grouped by purpose (geography / business unit / time).

So we have variables and two each of geog/bu/time filters which can be shown on the devices view / RHS sidebar.

Idea:
- allow the insertion of spaces / line breaks.
- allow colouring of devices by group and adding group titles.
- allow devices groups to be collapsed.

Even if I use a different device view for each group of devices, it doesn't allow me to collapse them neatly, which is often necessary given screen size limits.

Ideal use case (see attached illustration):
- key device groups and/or filters are expanded when users open tabs.
- superuser device groups and/or filters can be expanded when users wish to utilise them.
- device group titles and colours/breaks quickly communicate what filters are for with less need for instruction.

If there are a lot of devices, or width is at a premium, then using dividers would allow devices to be separated slightly so the above could be achieved visually to some extent.]]>
Idea: Specifying and exporting queries from free Viewer? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2665/idea-specifying-and-exporting-queries-from-free-viewers Thu, 31 Jul 2014 05:26:03 -0400 dpawley 2665@/discussions We have an external supplier that uses Omniscope to present that database to us with limited user interfaces to limit the chance of any data leaking out etc (Confidentiality). We use there reports to interrogate their database and then filter it accordingly. Previously we have sent them screen shots of the filters we have applied to get to certain views of the data.
Is there a way of exporting not the data from a report but just the applied filters to the dataset?
Many Thanks

Devices View - floating filters (2.8+) http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2101/devices-view-floating-filters-2.8- Mon, 22 Apr 2013 05:05:06 -0400 mustafa 2101@/discussions Overview
Starting from 2.8 we have added a new view called "Devices". This View has been added as many of you would like to see this available in Omniscope as discussed here (Floating filter devices).

image
Figure 1: Showing 3 different Devices view each showing use of different style and layout (see attached demo.iok).

The View allows you to show any number filter device which was previously shown only sidebars (Right/Left). This enables you to spread your devices anywhere on the tab rather than having them appear only in Right/Left sidebar. There is no limitation on how many Devices view you can add. You can think of Devices view as unlimited sidebars in form a View which can be places anywhere on the tab.

Devices view is just like a normal view in terms of normal View functionality i.e. you can drag and drop them to different places around just like any other view in Omniscope. The difference is that instead of showing you something about your data (i.e. Graph), it shows devices.

Devices view works in the same way as the sidebars in the sense that a Device can only appear once throughout the tab. There are number layout/styling options available allowing you to customise the View which are described below.

Features

This section describes a list of features available for the view.

Expand and Collapse (All)

You can expand and collapse all the Devices using the Expand/Collapse all button located on the Toolbar.

Layout

There are number of layout options available which allow you to choose how you would like the devices to be be laid out.

  • Mode: Defines how the devices should laid out within the view.
  • Column count: Defines the maximum number of columns to create after which the devices will wrap to next line.
  • Device width: Controls minimum device width when trying to work out how much space to allocate to each device.

Spacing

  • Margin: Controls the margin around all the devices as a whole.
  • Between column: Controls the spacing between each column in terms of layout.
  • Between rows: Controls the spacing between each row in terms of layout.
  • Fill height: If ticked, all devices height will be adjusted so that all vertical space is filled.
  • Fill width: If ticked, all devices width will be adjusted so that all horizontal space is filled.

Styling

Allows you to override global style settings for all devices inside the View. You can do this by clicking the "Edit" button next to Devices style.

Other options

All other options which you can see in the sidebar Tools menu are located in View > Tools > Other tab.]]>
Sidebar: Show/hide filter device title bar? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2059/sidebar-showhide-filter-device-title-bars Mon, 18 Mar 2013 09:17:23 -0400 grahamb 2059@/discussions
b) you will also see in the image three categories - Producer, Prospect, Rep
I have added REP to the main data file to overcome the missing functionality in layer manager, but how can I sort so on the map the REP markers sit on top of the Producer and Prospect records?]]>

Adjusting the range of device as per the selected data http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/837/adjusting-the-range-of-device-as-per-the-selected-data Wed, 22 Jun 2011 10:18:23 -0400 gayatri 837@/discussions
We are building an application where the user can select a country and the data in the table view changes accordingly. We are using some device for financial numbers so that the user can see data in table view only for limited range of financial numbers. The device currently is taking into consideration all of the data in database instead of considering the filtered data for selected country. Is there a way I can have a device which will be adjusted with the selected set of data.

Thanks,
Gayatri]]>
