My level of understanding Visokio is very basic. I have a limited use for visokio and am hoping a solution to the below stated problem exists. I use Visokio Omniscope 2.9 viewer.
Problem: A set of *.iok files are published to a folder. I need to export each of the .iok files to .xls and load the .xls files to a database.
Currently I go into each iok file and go through the general export process from File menu. I was wondering if there was a automated way to export all iok files to xls. Is it possible to automate the process with a batch script?
Thanks for any help!

I am trying to create a set of Excel reports, each containing multiple sheets. The reports need to be formatted in a certain way (i.e. date formats, header rows shading etc)

I can do this using the data file output in DataManager, just by writing to a blank Excel file that already exists and has formatting applied. However, I have about 100 Excel reports, each with 6 worksheets, so this method will be very time consuming to set up and maintain.

I have tried to set this up using a batch output. I am able to actually create the raw data files, but these do not have the formatting that I need. I have created a template Excel file (I've tried .xls and .xlsx) which has all of the formatting applied. However, when I point the batch config to this template file and set the "Preserve template formatting and formulas" to 'true', this does not have any effect?

I have also tried to create a file with the same name as the output, the same way as I would do this using DataManager, but this doesn't work either, the existing worksheets are just totally overwritten.

Is there a way for me to accomplish this without having to create this all manually in DataManager?]]>
Batch Output: delivering only specified tabs to certain recipients? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1859/batch-output-delivering-only-specified-tabs-to-certain-recipientss Tue, 23 Oct 2012 20:33:56 -0400 shaji_o 1859@/discussions Automation: File processing via Batch input/output? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2125/automation-file-processing-via-batch-inputoutputs Mon, 06 May 2013 16:01:02 -0400 cmollo 2125@/discussions
For example, I have 10 files in a directory: file01.csv, file02.csv, ... file10.csv. These files all have the same columns (fields): field1, field2, field3. For each file I want to create a fourth field, field4, that is the sum of field2 and field3. This will create 10 new files, file01_new.csv, file02_new,csv, ... file10_new.csv in either the same directory or some other directory (doesn't matter). How do I do this?

Is there a way to run Ominscope in "batch mode," i.e. from a command line?

I looked at the Batch Append Files block... it is kind of what I am looking (in that it inputs a bunch of files from a directory) but I do not want to append the files together.

I also looked at the Batch Output block, but that did not look like what I need.

Thanks!

We would like to know if using Server Edition it is possible to automate the production of a PDF using a batch procedure?

If it is the case, is it also possible to set the values of filters, variables and parameters in the same automatic batch procedure for PDF production?

For example, if we have to produce a PDF with daily information, is it possible to change automatically the filtering reference date?

I then have a Bar/Line View in which I display this field. I aggregate by another field. In the aggregation I select to recalc the value of my new field using the formula - i.e. calculate the ratio of used amount/total amount for the aggregated values, and then display this in the view.

All works fine until I re-publish the Omniscope file below the blue box using a file Output block set to publish an IOK file. In the new, re-published IOK file, the display doesn't work? Surely formulas must survive the re-publishing process?]]>

Idea: Batch Reporting-specifying tabs in batch output? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1416/idea-batch-reporting-specifying-tabs-in-batch-outputs Thu, 22 Mar 2012 15:12:32 -0400 ken 1416@/discussions
I would ideally like to run from one master Omniscope file and select the appropriate tabs for the output files I create as not all are relevant for all subsets of data.

I could do this by creating multiple templates but as each template would share common tabs this is sub-optimal.

There is a field in the batch template for tabs which only seems to apply for PDF and PowerPoint output - why not also for Omniscope output files? Is there a way to achieve my aims?]]>

Is it possible to batch output the file and filter it per market to the template excel file and then have it save as a different name so in the end i have a file for each market that has been filtered accordingly and the excel file has the conditional formatting in it?

I hope this makes sense and if any further clarification is required i can provide this. ]]>
