I followed what is indicated in the thread http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/comment/10597/#Comment_10597 but I've been able only to extract the details of the elementary records that are the base for the pivot composition.

Is it possible to extract the data as shown in the pivot table?

Since the pivot table is very big I would like to avoid to use the method of selecting cells on the pivot and use the cut and paste option.

Is there something I can do about this?

I have a pivot view that has the date columns along the x-axis, is there a way to sort the columns in descending order so the latest date appears as the left most column. Below is the screenshot of the original report where it only orders the dates in ascending order.

It would be helpful it were possible to manually adjust the column widths, including the row headers column width. Then if one Pivot View is positioned above another, the columns could be made to align. This would also solve an issue I have on some PCs (but not on others) where long row headers are not fully displayed.
2. The column headers are text and align to the left, whereas the column data being numbers align to the right. Would it be possible to manually adjust the alignment.

Pivot View: Colour Coding Tables http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/2929/pivot-view-colour-coding-tables Fri, 08 May 2015 07:39:58 -0400 dpawley 2929@/discussions

Hi

Posted on a discussion a while back now about colour coding within a Pivot Table. This was something that has got me thinking (scratching my head) for a while now. Visokio have a number of ideas and suggestions that come flooding in and this is small in comparison to others they receive - so was never implemented.

So I decided to carry on and crack it with their help!

Basically, I had a very large data set that I used a pivot table to report to my business some key measures (Volume, sales, share of category etc). But when using the pivot table, especially when calculating / formula in a pivot table, colour coding increases/decreases changes was proving impossible. Also too many formulas in a pivot table can slow down the report. So Visokio's advice was to calculate any formula columns within the data manager and then pull these through to the pivot table as a value rather than a formula.

In doing this, I was able to have a value calculated in the data manager, pulled through in to the pivot table as a value/measure. Then had the ability to use this value to colour the pivot table based on this. To colour code, you will need to go the "filters", "Field Options", "value ordering" and complete your colour criteria you require. Next you need to select the "Colour" option on the pivot table, "By Single Field" and select your value you have created, then "According to value field".

I have attached an example of my pivot table coloured. "TY", "LY" are values in the data set, "Var" was calculated in the Data manager View (as explained above) and "Var %" is a calculation within the Pivot table. The Pivot Table has been colour coded by the value "Var". This has made the pivot table a dynamic colour coded table depending on what you filter on.

Job done

Thanks

Danny

I have a pivot table displayed using Pivot View version 2 with splits on the vertical axes of 3 fields. The lay-out of the view is far from optimal, with a lot of white spaces in between the rows.

Next to that, I cannot create a single row with the sum of all values above.

I would like to invite you to a screen share in order to show the problem. Hope to hear soon. Thanks!

I am looking to have 3 pivot tables with brands on the Y Axis and then split by This year and last year, with a % Change. I have one table for each pack size (small mid large)

The issues is that I have some brands which only appear in one set of sizes (for example a brand may only have large packs). Because of this it a brand may appear in position 5 in one table and 7 on another. I would like it so they are always in the same position.

The 'pivot 2' in 2.8/9 does this perfectly, however I am unable to show % Change.

Does any one have a suggestion of how I can keep brands on the same 'line' / in the same order even though I will have to put them in multiple tables (In order to have my % change)

I have attached a file which has a 2.8 pivot on the left, which is just what I want (but doesn't have % Change) and then two 2.7' pivots which ave a % change but the brands may be in different orders

Many thanks

I am pivoting by two (2) fields horizontally e.g. [Field 1] , which contains A1, A2 and [Field 2] which contains B1,B2

[Field 1] [Field2]

  A1
            B1
            B2
  A2
            B1
            B2

My problem is that if in the data there is no row which has A2 in [Field 1] and B2 in [Field 2], in the Pivot View it will leave the associated rows empty with no row header or anything.
See example... most probably more clear.
For the Collateralised, Senior Unsecured and Supranational bonds they have only Tier *, however below Tier * there are gaps where Omniscope thinks other examples of tiers should go.]]>

So in 2013 quarter 1 we spent £50, in quarter 2 we spent £70 with the period total then being £50 + £70 = £120. I would then compare 2014 quarter 1 against 2013 quarter 1in the pivot.

Apologies if this is simple I just couldn't seem to get it to work using the Running Total formula.

  • Better performance. The old pivot view would often take a long time to calculate and update, particularly when working with large data-sets. You should find the new pivot view much quicker to work with.
  • You can now select multiple measures. The old pivot view only allowed you to select a single measure.
  • You can now select any field in the X and Y axis. In the old pivot view you were limited to selecting a single field.
  • The new Pivot view allows you to tile by one or more fields. Each tile will show a separate Pivot table.
  • There is now much more flexibility for configuring the look and feel of the pivot view. For example, on the view toolbar you can click the "Preset" button and choose to show the data as a grid or a table. More advanced options that allow you to configure options such as the pane height, label positions etc. are available in the "Layout" and "Style" view toolbar menus.
  • The new pivot view includes more colouring options. You can now colour by the measure value, the measure name (useful when more than one measures are selected), by a single field or by a fixed colour.

Please let us know if you encounter any problems using the new pivot view, or if you have any ideas/suggestions of things we can improve.]]>

I have a requirement of creating a pivot with x-axis as months - MMMyy and y-axis by top 5 Categories. Currently, the Pivot View is only supports aggregation by Text Category, but if I convert the MMMyy from Date/Time to Text Category, then it does not automatically sort them properly (chronologically)?

Also I need the same feature which we had in the Bar/Line View restricting only top 5 Text Categories in the Pivot y-axis view?
