You can disable free trial prompts on start-up and from the Help menu by following the steps below. If you are in a corporate environment it is recommended that you install Omniscope for all users, rather than for each individual user, otherwise you will need to carry the steps below by modifying each user account's installconfig.properties.

Find this line in installconfig.properties
#ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError

Replace with the following line:
ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-DdisableFreeTrial=true

If you have ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS property already enabled, add to the end
" -DdisableFreeTrial=true"

Disable automatic update check
Find this line in installconfig.properties
#ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError

Replace with the following line:
ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-DCHECK_UPDATES_AUTOMATICALLY=false

If you have ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS property already enabled, add to the end
" -DCHECK_UPDATES_AUTOMATICALLY=false"

Ability to filter individual devices.
Ability to change the tab.
Ability to do selection.
Ability to use Map view controls.
Ability to use Data titles (if shown) to change i.e. Split by in Bar view.

Features disabled in Viewer mode

Ability to show/hide filters.
Ability to show/hide maximise button.
Ability to show/hide view menus.
Ability to edit tab layout (design mode) i.e. for adding/removing views.

How to restrict to Viewer mode

Viewer mode restrictions are applied when the "File management" permission is disabled in the Mobile Web server config.

I CAN export this by using my Desktop Edition by selecting File->Export->Create Excel Spreadsheet and then chosing the option to export selected data. Please can I ask if firstly if I am missing something and this functionality is available in the free Viewer but I'm unable to find it? and secondly if I'm not missing anything, would it not be far more useful to have this function in the free Viewer from a data visibility point of view? The issue is how can we distribute these reports now, with the same flexibility that the Viewer allows? Their IT have said they want to limit the software/apps that are installed onto all desktops, so we can't install it across the board. Is there a web based version of Omniscope Viewer? We can suggest installing Viewer on to some deskstops, but this would defeat the hot desk set up.

The benefit would be that mobile personnel could carry just one key device and then work on any machine where Omniscope is installed with their full suite of license privileges but only so long as the key is present in the device and a PIN entered.

I have a bit of a problem. I have a dashboard hosted on an extranet which a client can login to and view using free Viewer.

The only problem is that their IT department is really strict and they also sit behind a proxy server (which causes further problems) and they are currently unable to install the latest version of Java (or the version which is compatible with omniscope) to view their dashboard. After many discussions this method of providing them the dashboard is out of the question as it is too time consuming and a very large hassle.

My question is, are there any other ways to provide the dashboard to the client without them having Omniscope installed on their machines? I know they can download and install free viewer and we can send them the iok file but this isn't feasible as i need to domain lock the file and restrict access to the data manager to protect our intellectual property.

If you could let me know asap that would be great. I've thought about using a virtual machine which they can VPN to but again as they're behind a proxy server even this may cause problems.

These are as follows:
1)Under the File Tab when selecting Open Demo all of the free demos are shown which is not wanted or needed when pushing out to clients.
2)When selecting "About File" at the bottom a section titled "Creator" the message written can be e.g. 11225 using version "Visokio Omniscope Desktop 2.6-rc b791

These are the only 2 of the issues we have found so far but we may have overlooked others as well. Any solutions on fixing these please?
