Each block is using "Replace Data" and "Excel Direct".

My problem is that when exporting the data it sometimes creates a new worksheet for the export instead of exporting to the excel file on Sharepoint.

For instance i have one Omniscope file and i have three (3) blocks exporting to the same Excel file on Sharepoint. These blocks sometimes export to the Excel file and sometimes create their own new Excel file.

I have looked at version history on Sharepoint and for instance the first two block publish ok and then the last block will just publish to a newly created Excel file and save it on Sharepoint.

Thanks, Ben]]>

Deployment: SharePoint/IIS authentication settings http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1643/deployment-sharepointiis-authentication-settings Tue, 10 Jul 2012 13:06:26 -0400 antonio 1643@/discussions
401 Authorization Required

Even if the user is providing the correct authentication details, a misconfiguration of the IIS server (on which Sharepoint runs) may cause the aforementioned error.

Here follows 2 default Sharepoint/IIS configurations that you may try to apply to solve the problem:

  1. Sharepoint 2007 with IIS 7.0
    • Go to the IIS settings , choose the Sharepoint site you need to configure, and double click on the "Authentication" icon
      image
    • Enable the "Windows Authentication"
    • Click on "Advanced settings" and ensure "Enable Kernel-mode Authentication" option is ticked.

  2. Sharepoint 2010 with IIS 7.5
    • Go to the IIS settings , choose the Sharepoint site you need to configure, and double click on the "Authentication" icon
      image
    • Enable the "Windows Authentication"
    • Click on "Providers..." and ensure that "NTLM" is in the "Enabled Providers" list

HTTPS Certificate Error http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1034/https-certificate-error Tue, 04 Oct 2011 10:58:00 -0400 antonio 1034@/discussions
These errors might take different forms in different situations, such as:

  • SSLHandshakeException
  • FailedDownloadException
  • “Publisher authenticity can not be verified”

When launching an Omniscope Online (WebStart) application, which involves clicking a Launch button in a web page, or opening a JNLP file, these errors might happen before Omniscope itself starts.

Or, these errors might happen if you start Omniscope and choose File > Open file > Open from web.

Likely causes

  • If the website is using a self-signed certificate, Omniscope cannot access the site. This is because the certificate cannot be verified or trusted.
  • If the website is using a correctly signed certificate, the server may be missing one of the certificates in the certification chain.

To check and diagnose problems with the SSL certificate used for a particular site, use a free online SSL testing tool (e.g. http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html), to make sure it is correctly installed, valid, trusted and doesn't give any errors to any of your users.

In case of using the suggested tool, if it recognises there is a problem with your server (e.g. a missing certificate in the chain) it suggests a solution (e.g. "The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate." - note that from the point of view of this tool, “browsers” includes applications like Omniscope which connect to an HTTPS site).

Your server administrators (SharePoint or other) should be able to take this information and resolve the problem easily.]]>
SharePoint List as Data source http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1313/sharepoint-list-as-data-source Thu, 16 Feb 2012 07:45:48 -0500 vthiruv2 1313@/discussions Omniscope Plugin for Sharepoint http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1197/omniscope-plugin-for-sharepoint Tue, 10 Jan 2012 09:32:00 -0500 johnom 1197@/discussions I have a number of graphs created within Omniscope. The data I am using is coming from an excel file saved locally.
I'm wondering if it's possible to show these graphs via a dashboard on a Sharepoint site. Then if the data in my graphs change, the dashboard would also change on my Sharepoint site automatically.
I am assuming I would need some kind of plugin to do this.
Anyone out there know?
Thanks....]]>
SharePoint location: open file from web, then save http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1040/sharepoint-location-open-file-from-web-then-save Mon, 10 Oct 2011 09:59:32 -0400 antonio 1040@/discussions
In order to let Omniscope save back to that location, you will need to tick Settings->Advanced->File settings->"Allow save to online locations" option and then save the file. This has been tested to work for files located on SharePoint document libraries.

Note: Omniscope will attempt to save back to the server via FTP or HTTP PUT. ]]>
