I am trying to publish (output) to the Salesforce Sandbox/QC environment. Users cannot specify the test.salesforce.com link when logging into the non-production environment. Thoughts? Any suggestions or comments you have would be much appreciated.

Connectors: Facebook issue http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1528/connectors-facebook-issue Fri, 04 May 2012 11:40:05 -0400 chris 1528@/discussions
Up to now after you connect for the first time you do not need to connect again unless you want to login as a different user or if you add a new Facebook block to your workflow. This will shortly change to a 60-day expiry on your login. This means that you will need to re-connect in your Facebook block after 60 days in order for you to continue to be able to download data.

We will be adding some status information to the Facebook block that will let you know how much time is remaining before you need to login again.

Connectors: Initiating new Connector development http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1428/connectors-initiating-new-connector-development Wed, 28 Mar 2012 04:42:02 -0400 chris 1428@/discussions
  1. Access to the connector API. We need to ensure that the API uses technologies that are compatible with Omniscope. Most do, but some could stand improvement, which we can discuss with the data vendor.

  2. An initial set of requirements. The requirements should contain an overview of how the Connector should work and what data it should generate. An example specification might be something like:

"At the top of the Connector the user enters their username and password. The user then selects an account. The user selects a report. The reports initially provided are 'Timeline', 'Cost analysis', 'Custom'. If the user selects the 'Custom' report the user can select a series of metrics/dimensions. Finally the user clicks the 'Execute' button to get the report data."

  3. Access to a test account. We need to test the Connector with realistic fully populated data sets while we are developing it.

  4. An end user contact. During new Connector development, we may have questions about the functionality that are not covered in the initial requirements. We need an end user contact who can answer these questions and provide feedback during the development cycle.

  5. A technical contact. We need access to the data vendor API developer who can provide assistance should we encounter any problems with the API.

  6. We may need justification/motivation for developing the connector, such as external funding, or significant demand/votes posted on the Forum by existing and potential licensees.

Connector: Google Translate Paid API account? http://forums.visokio.com/discussion/1044/connector-google-translate-paid-api-accounts Tue, 11 Oct 2011 09:23:57 -0400 TomW 1044@/discussions "Google server error. Unable to translate text to English. Quota exceeded. please see http://code.google.com/apis/language/translate/overview.html. Vale: POEDER"

I have visited the url and it states the following:
": Google Translate API v2 is now available as a paid service. The courtesy limit for existing Translate API v2 projects created prior to August 24, 2011 will be reduced to zero on December 1, 2011. In addition, the number of requests your application can make per day will be limited. Google Translate API v1 will be shut off completely on the same date (December 1, 2011); it was officially deprecated on May 26, 2011."

Does this mean that Google Translate is now not possible within Omniscope without purchasing a licence/paying to do so? I guess this also means that I must now translate elsewhere manually and load this into my dashboard separately?

I am also confused because I have another Google Translate box in the same DataManager that has a lot more data running through it and it has not come up with any issues at all despite this being run second?

Many thanks]]>

Has anyone else had this problem? How do I go about fixing this?

I thought of having one DoubleClick block with all the data downloaded once and an incremental block which downloads the month's data, appends the blocks and removes duplicates, but this can cause incorrect data to show so is not a solution.

I need to download the update every 3-10 days and the wait for it to download all the data is painful.
Download speed directly from DART goes at around 80kb/s, so this is likely to be why it takes so long, but I am looking for a solution which will make the download size less by limiting the number of dates I need to download and also retaining the old information in Omniscope.]]>
