I need to be able to create a metric in Omniture that would be based on another metric as a % of Total. Here is an example

Let's say the data looks like this:

Month Site Page Views
Jan-2010 A 600
Jan-2010 B 400
Feb-2010 A 800
Feb-2010 B 200


I need a Page Views % metric which would be Page Views / SUM(Page Views). Then I would have something like this:

Month Site Page Views Page Views %
Jan-2010 A 600 30%
Jan-2010 B 400 20%
Feb-2010 A 800 40%
Feb-2010 B 200 10%


But if I decide to only show Jan-2010 (by using the sidebar filters) then I should have:

Month Site Page Views Page Views %
Jan-2010 A 600 60%
Jan-2010 B 400 40%

Does this make sense? Can you please let me know how I can achieve it with Omniscope?

I address the question in two parts:
1.) Use a Subset function to get to the % of total
2.) Filters and formulae are not connected, so it's not possible to achieve part III [of the question above] in Omniscope.

Is that about right? Any/all additional context is welcome.

I have used the standard Excel * as a text wildcard in a formula but it does not work. Is there a different wildcard in Omniscope for any number of characters?

I have changed the field type of one of my columns to sum but the filters keep showing me the maximum number of values before changing the fileld type from singleton value to a sum value. Do you know how can I change the setting so that I get the range of the numbers in the column after the aggregation?

I imported an excel file into visokio and some cells contained the value "Unknown" while others contained "N/A".
In both cases, those cells in visokio were imported as empty cells.
Is it a strandard feature? I repeated the exercise and after entering the passowrd twice as usual, saved the file and then closed. This saved the password and on next opening, the password was required to access the file

I want to visualise the difference between two bars in my bar view.
Situation is as follows:
- dataset consists of clients with sales per product per period
- bar view is split on sector and horizontally paned by year
- Measure is Sales
- Sector A has less sales in 2010 compared to 2009 as the bar is smaller in the 2010 pane

Assume that clients were lost and this has caused the drop in sales. How can we configure Omniscope to identify which clients make the difference?

In an ideal world, the file should come with all the data, however, some of the data are missing: category level 1 and category level 2 need to be added in some rows.
The way they can be added is by defining rules that depends on the region, the supplier# and the account code#.
For example:
If (region = 1 and supplier# = 123456 and accountcode# = 1234) then category1 = 12 and category2 = 45

The way I am planning to solve this issue is to first filter the data that are already classified by using the "filter" box. So I will end up with a file missing all category level 1 and 2 data.
Then, I will introduce a new file that will contain the "rules" with the following structure: Region / Supplier# /Account code # / Category Level 1 / Category Level 2
I will then merge the two files, take all data but the cat level 1 and 2 from the original file and cat level 1 and 2 from the new file. The link between the 2 files will be on region, supplier# and account code#.
I'll then merge the new file with the correct rows from the old ones. So far, so good (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Regarding the Region / Supplier# /Account code # / Category Level 1 / Category Level 2 new file, everything is fine if all data are entered. For example, region=region1, supplier=123456, accountcode=1234, etc...
Now, my question is, let's imagine the rule is on region and account code and works for any supplier. That would mean leaving the supplier field empty and the link to the previous table would be broken. So, how would you handle that so that the administrator only has to create 1 new file?

At that point, I am wondering if I am clear or not, so please don't hesitate to ask me questions if needed.

What I need is a field that calculates the difference between time bought and time spent per customer.

I tried to use the SUBSET_SUM funtion as follows:
IF([Type]= "Bought", (SUBSET_SUM([Time], (SUBSET([Customer]), (SUBSET([Type], "Bought")))))), 0)

It returns an error about the comma after subset ([customer]). Can you please help? Am I doing something wrong?

The SUBSET page on Visokio.com is quite good, but I can't find a description for the situation where I have two variables in my subset (Customer & Type), but for only one I have a value (Type = Bought).
