The sales data file is first passed through a Field Organiser, to rename some fields and to add a calculation. At this stage the Barcode field is showing as Text. Then it is merged with a calendar file, to add some year/month fields. The output from this merge is then merged with the product master file, by matching on barcode. At this point we are getting no matches.

If I insert another Field Organiser block to intercept the output of the sales data/calendar file merge, it shows that the Barcode has become an Integer field. If I try to change the barcode field type to Text, I get the following error message -
Error: ClassCastException: com.visokio.yad cannot be cast to com.visokio.abd

It appears that the sales data/calendar file merge is changing the barcode to an integer. If I start with a brand new datamanager tab and just merge the sales data & product file, it works perfectly.

Any idea what is going on?

I can save the file, change the raw data, re-open the Omniscope file, and it is still all OK. But as soon as I go back to the DataManager tab, the changes to the integer fields are lost. All of the other field changes are still there (renames, calculations etc), but the integer fields have the thousand seperator option ticked again.

Any ideas? This is with build 262.

For performance reasons I have to transform my formulae to static data.
The advantage is off course better performance, but the disadvantage is the additional manual work each time the dataset is refreshed in my iok.

Is there a way to schedule these steps so Omniscope takes over these manual tasks?
1. When refreshing data, change fields to formulae
2. When data is refreshed, transform to statics again automatically.

However we still are struggling with an average calculation in a specific situation. Explaining the situation gets complex easily and that's why I have attached a simple example. The main characteristic of our table is the fact that the variable for which an average is needed (Sales in the example), is equal in multiple rows. Week 1 has sales= 5 as shown on each record in column Sales. Week 2 has sales=4. The average over the two weeks is 4+5/2=4,5.

When calculating the average by using Aggregate (aggregate on shop and set Sales to Mean), Omniscope gives 4,67. This is to be expected as week 1 has 4 records and week only 2. This is clearly not the correct method in this situation.

Column AverageCalculation contains a formulae we defined that calculates the correct value.

Our question is: is there an easier way of doing this? Is there functionality we might have missed?
As the formulae has a negative impact on performance, we prefer an easier way.

What we want is to add the overall averages of all shops to the graph. This way we get 4 quadrants and every quadrant requires it's own market approach.

In 2.5 I used to have a side menu in bar chart view that enabled me to suppress the "other" option and to show all columns using a scroll bar (I often have up to 50 columns).

When you work with a large file, grouped heirarchy is a problem. The first time you add a grouped heirarchy network, It seems to default to a 3 field radial network with the first 3 text/category fields selected. On a large data set, rendering this network could take a LONG time. I got "Omniscope Unresponsive" popups.

Please render a network with no fields checked. Or display a warning message "The fields you have selected may cause Omniscope to be unresponsive" - or both.

We plot shops in a graph based on Average Spending per client and CandyConversion. I have attached an example table.
The table contains data on shop-week combination. However, the number of records per shop per week differ. Shop 13, can have 60 records in week 1 and 80 records in week 2. The Spending value for a week is in all records the same.

Our difficulty starts at plotting the shops (we need a marker per shop) based on average spendings. When the file has data of 12 weeks, you will find 12 unique spending values per shop. The actual average is summing these 12 values and divide by 12. However, because Omniscope takes the number of records into account (which differ per week), the average is different.

A solution would be to aggregate on Shop id and Week, but that results in a marker per shop-week combination and we need a marker per shop.

How can we get a marker per shop, whereby the average per shop is calculated as the sum of all unique values found divided by the number of unique values.

1. Some clients need their company Admin to install Omniscope. Will Omniscope online require this as well or is it a different install type?
2. We understand from the knowledge base that the java webstart starts “Omniscope Viewer (online)” and runs an iok file at the same time. Is the iok file stored on our server or should it be stored on the Visokio server?
3. Can we customize the button on shape, colour, name etc? We probably will label the buttons by the name of the iok.
4. Can you have multiple buttons on one page?
5. Is there a relation with the outside browser? When does one use the outside browser?
6. Launching the iok via the web start means that the data travels over the internet. Can you tell us something about the data security?
7. Is Omniscope Enterprise edition required to use Java web start?
8. Is a Windows server required for using the Java web start?
9. We are testing the functionality currently. The file is stored on our server and after entering the filelocation in the Link Builder, the button is created. Hitting the button launches “Omniscope Viewer (online)” and throws the following error message “The file is corrupt and cannot be opened”. Can you please help?

If I choose the "Time Series(connect markers by X axis)" option for my time series graph and click on one of the circes/points i get an x symbol instead of the information for the particular point. However if I don't choose the option mentioned before I do get the information for the points.
Any ideas why this is happening?
