It has been running for 2 days now yet is only using 6GB of my 64GB RAM (windows 10 pro, Xeon 8 core processor, Omniscope version 2.9 build 1765 (rc) [plus] x64)

Is there anything i can do to make aggregate use the available RAM more intelligently - i have other files use far more of the RAM, but always have this issue with aggregation.

You can disable free trial prompts on start-up and from the Help menu by following the steps below. If you are in a corporate environment it is recommended that you install Omniscope for all users, rather than for each individual user, otherwise you will need to carry the steps below by modifying each user account's installconfig.properties.

Find this line in installconfig.properties
#ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError

Replace with the following line:
ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-DdisableFreeTrial=true

If you have ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS property already enabled, add to the end
" -DdisableFreeTrial=true"

Disable automatic update check
Find this line in installconfig.properties
#ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError

Replace with the following line:
ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS=-DCHECK_UPDATES_AUTOMATICALLY=false

If you have ADDITIONAL_JVM_ARGS property already enabled, add to the end

Since this morning, our clients are having issues opening JNLP files from our platform. We switched to the visokio JAR file hosted on our server, but the problem still occurs.

We have users with all different Java versions. Java 8 Update 65 seems the only one that is working.

I have a text field with different strings.
I am trying to replace the first 2 characters of each string.

Specifically I want to replace "PT" with "m1"; "m1" with "m2"; "m2" with "m3" etc.

I have seen that there is a REPLACE and REPLACEREGEX function, which I would be interested in using,
but can't seem to get either of them to work correctly. Could someone help?

For Ex: in Web Report in Bar chart View labels of split measures are displayed and in the Desktop Version are not displayed (we don't want display labels because we have the Colour Key activated)

We are having issues creating PDF reports where we use a content view that contains javascript and html (with css) using the native browser in omniscope.

There are 3 scenarios that cause the issue
1. Part or all of the view is not on the screen when it is opened to take the screenshot
2. When the publish is carried out on a scheduler machine
3. There is another window open on top (I know that there shouldn't really be any screens open, but it is hard not to when the reports cant be run on a scheduler as per point 2)

The issue doesn't happen on views where the native browser is not selected.

Attached is a screenshot of what happens. The part of the view that is off screen shows blacked out, and the part that has another screen open shows that screen.

I am using 2.9-[Hotfix_BatchPublishMethod] b1642 (28-Apr-2015 15:44:00) Build revision:8b20a5fae04b , but there are others in the office using different versions and having the same issue.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix on the way?

I am wanting to merge two files based on an ID. In the first file the ID's are all found with in the same column however in the second file the ID could be in one of 14 different columns. Is it possible to do all this in one merge block? The merge blocks enable you to add more than one criteria but this doesn't work as it is then trying to match the ID to two different columns. I could create 14 merge blocks, each with an equal and then append but this looks very messy

I would like this block to only publish on a specific day during the week. However the file refresh will run daily. Also the XML file after the file has refreshed and saves call another XML and I would like this to continue.

How do i get the email output block to only publish on a Friday?

I have tried custom validation in the Validate Data block and to fail if not a Fri, but such failure then stops the dependent XML running even if i don't have "propagate failure" in the XML.

Any advise would be appreciated

I am relatively new to Omniscope and I am setting up a simple job which will take a file from a location, remove duplicate rows, and output the file back to the same location. I am having trouble finding a setting which will allow the file to have a datestamp (and thus apply the datestamp back to the transformed file), so that we can automate this process.

Is it possible to do this?

I am having a problem pointing a Content view to a local stylesheet.

If I insert a Web view using the same HTML saved locally, the local link to the CSS stylesheet works.

However, using the Content view, the stylesheet only works if I upload it to a web server and link to that. This is not much use, as we would like clients to be able to use the Viewer offline.

In terms of stylesheets/styling, what is different as to how the Content view works, compared to the Web view?

If you have a Microsoft Access database block you will no longer be able to execute the block IF you have selected the "Microsoft Access driver". This driver uses ODBC to connect to the Access database.

Oracle, the developers of Java, have removed ODBC support in Java 8. As such if you have any ODBC database source/output blocks they will no longer work. If you try to run these blocks you will currently see the following error message:

Unable to connect to database. The JDBC driver file(s) are either currently unavailable or not correctly configured

We will improve this error message shortly, but you will need to update these blocks using one of the following options:

Option 1: In the "Select database" drop-down, check to see whether your database is listed as one already supported by Omniscope. If it is, simply select this option and configure accordingly.

Option 2: If your database is NOT supported you will need to use the "JDBC (Advanced)" database option. After selecting this option you will need to download and configure the Driver jar path. These can typically be downloaded from the database vendor's website and will be files with a ".jar" extension. You should search for "JDBC driver" on the vendors website. If you have any problems finding the driver please contact the vendor directly. The driver should provide instructions for configuring the Driver class and the JDBC URL. Please let us know if you encounter any database that is not currently supported by default in Omniscope and we will consider adding it.

If you have any problems migrating your ODBC database blocks using one of these options please let us know.

The dial looks good in omniscope, but the dial is often very small when published to PDF.

I believe that the issue may be caused by the dial animation when the tab opens. The screenshot happens before the dial has completely opened and therefore is captured only half open. Every now and again it does work, but most of the time it doesn't.

There doesn't seem to be an option to disable the dial view animation on tab open. I have tried changing two settings but this doesn't seem to have had an effect
1. Advanced>Performance>Use Open/Close Animation - Turned this off
2. Advanced>Miscellaneous>Web View Grab Screenshots Delay - Increased to 5 seconds and no improvement seen

Is there a way to remove the animations from the dial view, or force the batch output to wait for it to be fully opened before taking the screenshot?

My omniscope version is 2.9-[Hotfix_BatchPublishMethod] b1642

Some of our clients with viewer version of visokio have asked us the chance of doing negative filtering, i.e., to eliminate records in the dashboard with strings containing certain word.

Is there a way to do it in "Search" with something like "NOT word"? In negative case, is there a way to work this around?

We are having an issue when our clients access mobile reports from different time zones. With a simple data filter, the displayed date jumps back a day whenever a specific date is typed in. We also have some reports with more complex date variables and these don't work correctly either when opened in a different time zone.

I have been able to replicate this on my machine by changing the windows time zone. It is hard to show this from a screenshot, but am happy to jump on a screenshare to demonstrate.

The files have all been published using a 2.9 (2.9 b1641) scheduler on GMT time zone, and the mobile server is also running 2.9 (2.9 b1613) and is on GMT. For an input array, I would like to loop through one of the fields and do a calculation but I am falling over at the first hurdle.

How do I reference a field and record number of an input array for instance? Or return a full field from the input array? So I would try something like Input1[Baseball players] for example and hope to preview just that one field.

Apologies, I am a real novice when it comes to JavaScripting.
