I am actually facing this annoying issue where if I add one column to the datamanager, it gets added to all the tables and side filters in all the tabs. Could you please let me how to stop it.

Problem migrating scheduler config file

Hi,

I am trying to migrate our Visokio Enterprise from one server to a more powerful one (64bits).
I installed it ok on the new server and I activated license ok.
Scheduler seems to be running ok as well.
Then I stop it and copy the config.xml file from our old installation and run it again.
All the schedules are displayed ok, but when I try to test one I get a scary error and no iok is published (see attached log)
But when I publish the iok file manually, directly in visokio it works ok, so I guess this has to deal with the scheduler.

What can the problem be?

Omnicsope 2.7 server installation and link to R.

dear all,
we are trying to add R to an existing Omniscope server installation.
Unfortunately, Omniscope (2.7) isn't able to get an link to the Rscript.exe-file.
We are using R 2.15 and tried installation as user ord admin both failed to run an R script within Omniscope.
Any ideas?

Upgrading Omniscope with the Scheduler service installed

There is a known issue with upgrading Omniscope between significantly different versions after installing the Omniscope Scheduler windows service.

Currently, the installer does not overwrite the "wrapper.conf" file inside the "services" folder of the installation. This file contains a mix of installation properties and deployment customisations. When you upgrade, the installation properties become out of date, and Omniscope no longer functions correctly at certain scheduler tasks.

This file can typically be found in one of the following locations, depending on type of PC and type of installation:


C:\Program Files\Visokio Omniscope\service\wrapper.conf
C:\Program Files\Visokio Omniscope (x86)\service\wrapper.conf
C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Visokio Omniscope app\service\wrapper.conf
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Visokio Omniscope app\service\wrapper.conf

If you are updating a server with the Omniscope Scheduler windows service, and particularly if the version change is significant (e.g. from 2.6 to 2.7), please follow these steps:

Rename "wrapper.conf" (found in one of the above locations) to "wrapper-old.conf"
Install as usual. This will create a pristine and up to date "wrapper.conf" file
Re-apply any customisations you previously made. If necessary, compare the two files, e.g. using Beyond Compare.
(Typically, the only customisation you will have made (and should be making) is to set a memory limit).
When you are satisfied you have copied any customisations, delete "wrapper-old.conf".

Connectors: Connection to test.salesforce.com?

Hi - There is a problem when trying to access an iok file via html. Visokio returns "server redirected too many times" error (see error.png). We don't understand the problem because when we try to download using a web browser it works fine (see ok.png). Do you know what the problem can be?

Indicators required

Hi All,

Need the Indicators as attached in the file with the same colors. I have tried adding it as a jpg file but the clarity is not so good. Moreover I have tried with the installed fonts "Windings3" which has this particular symbols but not working in the formatting the FX as required for me to create trend flow with comparing the data.
Please let me know if any updates on the same.

I'm hoping you can assist with the following:
1. Reports - I don't see reports anywhere as per the screencast. Is this only included in the Enterprise edition?
2. Bar view - If my vertical pane is set up using two column names. Example Are and then product. Is there any way to have the Area pane autosize by the number of products? By this I mean Area1 has 10 products and Area 2 has 5 products, therefore I'd like Area 1 pane size to be twice as large.
3. Data Player Bar view - I don't seem to be able to flip the bars like I do in the data expolorer view.
4. How do I publish data players to Sharepoint and have them render as swf files as opposed to files in a document library.

Publish to mySQL error

We are attempting to publish to mySQL and receive the following error:

Database Error

An error occurred connecting to or querying the database.

Data truncation: Incorrect time value: '1970-01-01' for column [ETA] at row 1

The receiving table has been setup in mySQL and the field [ETA] has been give the format TIME which expects hh:mm:ss
The data to be output is in the format: hh:mm:ss

The first row is 00:00:00

But we cannot figure out what might be the cause of the error.

Problem with batch output

Hi,

I'm having problems with a batch output that used to work, but no longer does.
The problem appears to be in the string operator used in the filter rules...
I have two rows where output fails with the following message:

Row 1: Invalid choice of operation: does not equal
Row 2: Invalid choice of operation: does not equal

Below are the filter rules for Row 1 and Row 2, respectively, and I want the filter match to be 'All'

Row 1 : [Region]=[EMEA],[Agency]=[MyAgency],[Office]does not equal[Worldwide]
Row 2 : [SubRegion]starts with[UK],[Agency]=[MyAgency],[Office]does not equal[Worldwide]

I tested it also with DOES NOT CONTAIN, and that doesn't work either.

I'm using Omniscope Server Plus, with v2.7b build 299 installed.

Bar View: % columns when using filters/splits?

I have a simple Bar view which shows the number of doctors prescribing a certain medication per quarter in ranges i.e 1-5 times, 6-10 times etc.)

I can show the number of doctors within each range but had to create a simple formula to show the % of doctors:

1/RECORDCOUNT(SUBSET([Quarter]))

I created 3 different formulas to show % of doctors in institutions, Regions and split by regions and institutions as follows:

1/RECORDCOUNT(SUBSET2([Quarter], [Instituion])),

1/RECORDCOUNT(SUBSET2([Quarter],[Region])),

1/RECORDCOUNT(INTERSECTION( SUBSET([Quarter]), SUBSET([Region]),SUBSET([Instituion])))

These formulas all work if I keep my Bar view static and set my variable to the appropriate formula for the chosen split.

What I would really like is one formula which will calculate the correct percentages when I use filters or change the split of the data between institutions and regions or both. Can anyone help me? I tried aggregating data using the unique ID column and formula result, but that didn't work. Thanks a lot. Phillipa

Is there any way of creating a text field or a label for the filter choices on the views. I.e If I select region "North" in the filter that North can be displayed as a label/text field in the view.

Timestamp in File output

We could previously specify the version of the Webstart viewer on the link builder page. I cannot find this option now. How do we enforce that the end user uses a fixed version of the viewer?

Counting ; characters

Is there a way to count the # of instances of ; in a static field? I tried to do search(";",[field_name]) but it returns something like 16, when the answer should be 3. I made sure to set the field type to integer and the value type to "formula result"

Filtering: Import with parametric custom SQL queries?

I am trying to convert an existing report from another system into Omniscope. There is an existing stored procedure with parameters that was used in the previous system to filter the data retrieved from an SQL database. In the DataManager I am now able to use the custom SQL in a database table source and pull data using the same stored procedure.

However, I am not certain what is the best way to provide the parameter values that can change dynamically from, say, within the DataExplorer. Otherwise I will have to import millions of data rows which is not practical. What is the best way to handle this situation? Are parameters useful here? Can parameters be seen from the DataExplorer?

100% bars option missing from Bar view

Just installed 2.7 b290. Added a new bar graph to a page and could not find the 100% bars button in the toolbar. When I clicked the Cascade button, the 100% button appeared and I could change the graph to 100% (cascaded). I toggled Cascade off and the 100% button disappeared from the toolbar - as did the 100% feature of the graph. I got a regular bar chart.

As an experiment, I created a new page and added a bar chart. Again, the 100% button was missing but this time when I followed the steps outlined above I managed to get 100% bars (not cascaded).

p.s. Just installed b 294 and have the same issue.

Editing a table in a content view

I have created a table in a content field with a function in the individual cells.

I deleted a function in a cell and I seemed to have deleted also 2 cells in the last column.
Is there a way to add these 1 or 2 cells to this existing table?
Or is it possible to delete the last column and to add a new last column?

Help with Subset Function

Hi,

I am facing a little trouble in implementing Subsets and Filters in this particular situation.

In the above (or attached) screenshot, when I select Quarter 4 from the side filter, Omniscope subsets all the data under Quarter 4 and applies it to all the above four views. But in the first view, which is a content view (marked with red star), I need to show the results of current quarter, previous quarter and have to calculate the difference in percentage between the two quarters. I tried various different methods to implement it but nothing worked for me. Could you please suggest me a solution to implement this. I have also sent the IOK file to support@visokio.com.

NOW and DateDiff

Is it possible to use the NOW() function in a datediff formula such as

IF(DATEDIFF([ExitDate],NOW,"day")>[Days Remaining],"RED",[MigGateLatestUpdateDate]+[EstGateDuration]<=(NOW+1),"GREEN",[MigGateLatestUpdateDate]+[EstGateDuration]>(NOW+1),"AMBER","RED")

When I use now, it doesn't work. It just hangs. But when I use IF(DATEDIFF([ExitDate],[ExitDate],"day")>[Days Remaining],"RED",[MigGateLatestUpdateDate]+[EstGateDuration]<=(NOW+1),"GREEN",[MigGateLatestUpdateDate]+[EstGateDuration]>(NOW+1),"AMBER","RED")

It allows the calculation to complete.

Even if I use another field, which contains a forumla that evaluates to NOW, it hangs in "executing" as well around 73% complete.
Thoughts?

Hello, i'd like to know how can i do this with a function:

what i want to do:

2011 : 555.324

2012 : 378.736

In a content view i add a function, then i choose the field "year" (single value), then i add another function and i choose the field " value" (sum)

i get this: 2011 : 555.324

the problem is that i can have only 1 year, if i choose more than a year in the filter bar i get the sum of those years, no separated by year.

If in the filter bar i have selected more than a year (in order to see the others graphs), how can i get these values separated ??

Yahoo email download problems

I get frequent disconnects, authentication, mailbox busy errors when trying to download email from Yahoo Business Email account.

I have tried the Yahoo email download function numerous times in the past year and it has always been problematic. I would like to be able to build it into Datamanager data flow but it is not fast or reliable enough.

The problem may be to do with latency from the Yahoo servers and/or the fact that the Inbox has a large number of messages 100,000 unread and some millions in total which may cause a problem of time delay during access.

Any suggestions? Is there a fix for this? such as changing the protocol from POP3 to IMAP?

Is it possible to get a % value of variables in a pivot series?

I have depivoted 4 variables in my data set (Let's say a,b,c and d). Now I would like to show the aggregate percentage of a/b.

Can I do this or do I have to go back to the original source file and use the unpivoted data and append it to calculate the % value?

Odly enough for this specific data set the bottom portion returns 0 as we are only in February. I expect data before EOD, and want to leave the formula in the report in the conent view, formula section. I would like this to show 0.0 not the formula error message that you can not divide by 0. Is there any way around this problem?

The above simplified would be 10/5 to get a percentage. Right now its 10/0 as I am not comparing the same data set so this is possible. Ideas?

Percentage difference error

Hi all,

I have been trying to get a percentage change formula that calculates the difference between sales from the previous week and sales from the current week. A problem arises when trying to take into account potential division errors from, for example, the previous week having 0 sales. I tried the following formula without success.

IF(AND(Sales week1=0, Sales week2=0),0,AND(Sales week1=0,Sales week2>0),1,AND(Sales week1>0,Sales week2=0),-1,(Sales week2/Sales week1)-1)

Bascially, I just want the formula to return either 1, -1 or 0 where there are zeros for the previous week, current week or for both. The formula returns blank cells where there are division errors and therefore the weighted average isn't accurate. Does anyone know a way around this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
