However, when we use omniscope server to refresh our reports that contain these database blocks (using XML scheduler files), the reports are refreshed but the field names have lost their proper case even though the file has been saved with 'Auto-correct field name case' option selected.

If the datamanager has other blocks below (merge joins, aggregates etc) this ends up affecting their ability to work as before (the merge joins will no longer work or work in an erroneous way).

I have raised a bug against this and have included a cut down example in the report but I'm not sure what use it will be as you won't be able to refresh this database block externally.

I am totally new to dates in Omniscope and would like to know how to select dates post 2014.

I have a field in date format dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm:ss and want to select records that are only after 2014.

I know it is not rocket science but as a beginner I need some help.

I've just started using Omniscope and anticipate this being an embarrassingly easy answer, but still here goes; is there a way to add a field effectively the same as the Source Field from Batch Append, but for a single Data file source?

Reason being I'm setting up a flow that starts with a file whose filename contains a date which I'd later like to have as a value. Easily made automated with Batch append data source but not individual files. Any suggestions?

I'm the only user of our program and machine is there a way to force omniscope to use all the available RAM on the machine.

Why does the orientation of the labels in the Bar View appear correctly in the Desktop Version (Horizontally) but then render vertically in the Mobile Version of the Report? I can't find a setting in the Bar View which seems to correct this.

I have survey data and i want to show data by the percentage of control and exposed respondents. The data is categorical.

Column A; Column B; Column C
Respondent 1 ; Control; Competitor A
Respondent 2 ; Control; Competitor B
Respondent 3 ; Exposed; Competitor C
Respondent 4 ; Exposed; Competitor A
Respondent 5 ; Exposed; Competitor B
Respondent 6 ; Exposed; Competitor C

The chart needs to show two bars for Competitor A, one control and one exposed. Control would be 50%, Exposed would be 25%. For competitor B it would show Control 50%, Exposed 25%. For competitor C it would show Control 0%, Exposed 50%.

I've just installed Actian Vector and uploaded a csv data set into a new database table I setup in Actian Director.


Now in Omniscope I want to access that database table, so just used the Database table.

In the Database table connector block I selected Vectorwise, an error tells me to get a jdbc file.

I have found the jdbc Version 4.2.0 from Actian at http://esd.actian.com/product/drivers (is this the correct one?)

Unzipped this file into my documents and pointed the connector to that jar file.
I filled in the Host name, database name default port was VW7 as well as a default username in actian.


I'm not sure what steps I am missing but this doesn't seem enough and I just get an error in connecting to the database.

I have an IOK file, created and saved using our fully licensed server, aimed to be viewed on a mobile phone, set to refresh automatically, where the data feed is just a iok output which is refreshed and saved down every 15minutes.



However, it doesn't refresh. I have looked through some of the previous threads in the forum and applied the settings as discussed.



Am I doing something wrong, please advise if there are other steps I need to take?

For example, if in France, you may find number/date formats start getting displayed in English.

You can resolve this in several ways:

1. Change the Windows language.

Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region > Language.
Add the desired language, downloading any language packs as needed.
Move up to configure as default.
Regional settings will follow suit automatically.

2. Alternatively, change regional settings directly.

Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region > Change date, time or number formats.
Under "Format", change "Match Windows display language (recommended)" to the locale you want.

3. Alternatively, change Omniscope's settings directly.

Start Omniscope and open the Settings menu. Change the "Interface language" and "Data locale" as needed. Restart if prompted.
This will apply regardless of which IOK file you have open. (However, note that timezone settings are per-file).

I have a pivot view that has the date columns along the x-axis, is there a way to sort the columns in descending order so the latest date appears as the left most column. Below is the screenshot of the original report where it only orders the dates in ascending order.

Is there a way to lock the displayed fields for each existing table view, so if you add extra fields to the Omniscope block in the data manager tab it does not mess up your existing tables? e.g. see screenshot below where the extra columns appear appended to the table which is undesirable.

This could obviously be Omniscope, the server, the internal network, the connection to my laptop, or my browser's rendering speed in theory, but I'm not having much luck in tying down what's causing it to run slowly.

Ideally, I'd like the file to load and run quickly over a wet string - the sort of thing you encounter with hotel / event / guest wifi. I was wondering whether anyone has experienced a similar situation, and what a solution might be.
Last night our scheduler performed a chain action. One of the tasks is a file action, (refresh and publish).

The file action has 3 main sources, combined in joins and append operations. The output only contained data from 2 of the 3 sources. When executed again this morning, the result was as expected containing data from all 3 sources.

Since datasets we are elaborating are growing up in dimensions quite rapidly, we have now changed the configuration in a way that the virtual memory used can be extended up to 32Gb and the number of virtual processors can be extended up to 8, if these resources are available (not used by other virtual machines) on the physical server where the virtual machine is installed.

We are now running some large .iok file update for testing the new server configuration, but till now Omniscope has always used at most the usual 16Gb of memory and, sincerly, I do not think that the problem is that there are no other resource available.

I have just opened a Omniscope IOK file which loads an xlsx file into Omniscope.
I last worked on it a month ago and everything was fine. Now when I go in I get an error message:

Unable to use Excel to read data. Using Omniscope reader instead.

Can anyone help with this?
