Hello, can you give me a link, where I can find the daily build of Omniscope 2.7 b425. I've used it to migrate from older version of Visokio, but when I update to b438, the code doesn't work, so I need to switch back to b425. Can you send me links to Windows x64 version and Mac version. - Thanks.

Outputs: Exporting Content View to PDF only viewable contents?

When exporting Content View report in HTML and scripting mode to PDF, only the first part of the report is exported, the rest does not show. It gets stripped off?

Hi - I am setting up a Batch Control IOK file to control my batch output. What happens if I set this field to "false"? The explanation in the file is a bit confusing. Thanks!

Preserve template formatting and formulas: Use only for Omniscope iok "File" output type.
If "true", when Template File has been set the formulas of any fields that already exist in the template file will be retained. You must ensure the published data has a field of the same name and type as the non-formula fields in the Template. If unselected or "true", all fields in the template file will be replaced entirely.

Error message: file locked by elsewhere inside Omniscope?

I am getting this error message trying to open a file:

"The file you are trying to access is currently locked by elsewhere inside Omniscope. Please try again." (v2.7, b438)

Can you suggest what may be causing this and any way round the problem? Andy

Bar/Line View: Display 7 previous weeks in reverse order?

Hi all - I'm using variable to select the week based on which I would want my bar/line charts to show last 7 weeks data.

Details are here:
Split by: Week (Integer) Bar: Metric 1 Line: Metric 2

So ideally, I would like to define a subset of the data to be shown in the view to the contain the data of current week and also the previous 7 weeks.

Outputs: Email output 'From' field issue?

Hi - I encountered a bug (I think it is a bug) in the Email output block. When sending emails using a Batch output block, the 'From' field is displayed when receiving the email. When I enter the same value in a "normal" Email output block, the 'From' field is ignored. Because when receiving the email the sender is the username in the output block.

Hope you can reproduce the problem and fix this issue. Thanks in advance!

Recovering recently closed tabs/views/objects?

Hi - I was working on a Content view in a tab and I pressed on the cross mark and closed the view by mistake. It closed the view and I couldn't undo this action. Ctrl+Z did not work here, instead it deleted the variable I created earlier. Please let me know in case recovery is possible?

Hi - I've just completed a report based on two nested loops. Because of its structure the report has a quite long vertical development and it's not possible to keep it in a single sheet.

I've tried to export it in a PDF file or print it and I'm only able to export o print the upper part of the report (it seems that it's only possible to print or export the first part that fit in the video).

Is there a way to export the whole tab in a PDF (for example in a PDF with more than one page) or print it on more pages? -Thanks

Scheduler: Setting failure email alert?

Hi - we are currently trialling server version of Omniscope 2.7 b123, it is installed on an Amazon Cloud machine image running Windows Server 2008

I have a scheduled task and want to set a failure alert email notification. I have found the screen where i need to input the smtp, port, user & password & SSL & message info

I have tried with a few email accounts - one my personal Hotmail, which i have the settings for on my IPhone.

FYI - Although MS Office is installed, but there is no email set-up in a non POP3 or IMAP email client like Outlook Exchange on the server.

All create an error message telling me that cannot connect to SSL and to check antivirus/firewall on the server. I have had infrastructure test the server and cannot find anything on the server that would be preventing this working? (screenshot attached in Word document)

Is there anything i am doing incorrectly, some setting i need to change, is this a known bug in the alpha 2.7 version?

It is quite urgent. In the newest version of Omniscope 2.8 when I try to upload an Excel file with more than one worksheets (A,B,C) it always select the same worksheet (A) even when I select B or C. Could you fix the problem please? Thanks

JavaScript: script using nested loops?

I'm writing a script with an outer loop on ABICapoGruppo and, for each ABICapoGruppo element, an inner loop on a variable number of elements.

For each outer loop element (ABICapoGruppo) the resulting table has to show:
- an header row
- a serie of detail rows
- a summary row.

The number of detail rows is different for each ABICapoGruppo element.

At the moment I've written the following script (I've cut out all the details of data calculations).

Only the outer loop works fine, printing the description of ABICapoGruppo but no details from inner loop are produced.

I think that the key point is the inner array variable declaration that, for each outer loop cicle, is based on the current value of the outer loop element.

I am trying to hide "Pane: None" which appears almost everywhere and makes the report a bit messy. How can I do it? When I right click on it and tick the option "Never" it doesn't do anything. Is there a way to hide it?

Website Map: Searching/classifying imported text fields?

I'm trying to export meta descriptions within a 'Content' text field imported using the Website Map Feed.

I would like to use the search function to find the string:


However, the use of double quotations in the string prevents that from being possible. Is there a way to tell Omniscope not to treat those characters as a literal part of the search formula?

Hi - Using the formula wizard I tried this statement:

SUBSET_UNIQUESLIST([Field 2], SUBSET([Field 2],NULL,'<>')) 

and it works fine, returning the list of non-empty in  [Field2].

However, when I tried it in a script defining an array:

var array = subset_uniquesList('ABICapoGruppo', SUBSET('ABICapoGruppo',NULL,'<>'));

it returns the message that NULL is not defined. Which is the way to express the NULL values in scripts?

The table is created on a loop on ABIAppartenente code and have different columns:

- first column is the ABIAppartenente code itself;
- second column is a total amount for each ABIAppartenente code;
- third column is the count that contributes for each code; 
-  fourth column counts record for each ABIAppartenente code for a fixed date.

Everything works fine except for last column that return always 0 (for each ABIAppartenente, also if there are records for each ABIAppartenente code and the indicated date Dataregolamento).

So I'd like to know if anyone have an idea about the problem in using the SUBSET2 as indicated - Thanks



DataManager resizing itself

Hi

When I open DataManager as a view on a different window and then sizing it to be the same size as my screen (so i have my main report on one screen and the DataManager on the second screen), every time I try to search for a field in any "Field Organiser" block, the DataManager window resizes itself.  Is there a function to stop this or if this is something that can be fixed?

Hi

I am hoping to use Output blocks to output PDF, Excel and PowerPoint, from one single Omniscope file, and also use the output block "Email Output" to attach all these different file outputs in one single email to send to multiple emails.

Is there a way to make sure the file outputs are all completed first, before the "Email Output" is executed? To ensure all the e-mail attachments are the most recently refreshed and loaded ones?

Please let me know if this function is already built into Omniscope somewhere. - Thanks a lot  -Dom

Batch Outputs: PDF files showing empty queries in views?

Hi - I am using a Batch Output IOK file to generate and deliver multiple PDF output files. The Template IOK file has 2 tabs. On the second tab I use defined Subsets in the views. Yet, in the static PDF, 4 out of 6 views with defined Subsets show "empty query" in the static PDF version. What did I do wrong?

Merging feed: Yahoo financial: Last trade day correct?

When use 'Yahoo financial data' as input to retrieve the FX rate, the date in field 'Last trade date' is shifted 1 day ahead.
Ex: Today is 6th Sep 2012 but the date in 'Last trade date' will be 7th Sep 2012.

From the data, date will be shifted when it is 8:00 pm. Please find the attached files.

Bar/line view: colour code for other category

I've just encountered what appears to be a small bug.

If I create a line view layered by a field and select the option to "include excluded values grouped as 'Other'", then the "Other" doesn't appear in the colour codes, and makes the view somewhat confusing. I'm using 2.7 b422

Scheduler: task execution speed?

We've been using the Scheduler a while now and have noticed some of our files are performing much slower than when manually updated.  The iok's in question have two tasks performed on them

1. Refresh from Source
2. Publish

...then save (which does not take long)

My question on Scheduler is do these two tasks repeat the whole DataManager process - i.e refresh from source loads the data, runs the DataManager process, then loads data set into Omniscope  (like refresh icon in top right of Omniscope?

Whereas publish in Scheduler will load the data, run the DataManager process and then publish to csv?

So, for a file where we only need to publish do we need to 'Refresh from source' in the Scheduler as well?

Merge/Join: Adding Data to 2 existing files?

How can we map a Source File to a Target File...and while transferring data , how can we Transform the source data as desired and then write to the target File. Example

Source File has 2 Column
------------------------
First Name and Last Name

Target File has 3 Column
-------------------------
First Name , Last Name and Age.

I want to Move the data from Source File to Target File (Already has Some Data) and Add age value to name of the person coming from the source.

I would appreciate , if somebody can help me do that....
