Agregue un conjunto de imágenes, en un fichero IOK, Con estas genere una "Tile View". En mi ordenador la visualizo sin problema, pero en el momento de exportar un Archivo ".Jar" , Y querer verlo en otro equipo no puedo visualizar dichas imágenes, o piezas. Que puedo hacer para fijarlas o incrustarlas en el fichero?.

In the Graph View, the scale of the axes are dynamically set, and change with filtering. Can the axes scales be locked or frozen somehow?

Import: Losing records importing .txt file?

Date/Time: Importing from DART and Salesforce issues

Hello,

We are running into a few issues with the date fields from 2 data sources.

DART and DATE
We are connecting to DART and have a DATE field. Based on the Field Organizer, the original format of the DATE comes in as Category. We want to convert this to use a Date/Time format (so that we can run some formulas later on), however, when choosing the Date/Time option in the drop down, it blanks out the entire date entry. I believe we've used this function before, so not sure why this is removing the date entries now.

How can we ensure that a date is read as a date?

SALESFORCE and DATE
We are connecting to Salesforce and also have a DATE field. Based on the Field Organizer, the original format of the DATE comes in as Date/Time. The date format is defined as yyyy-MM-dd and this is displaying properly in the preview. We want to concatenate this date with another column, however, when we do this, the date formatting is being converted to a very long string.

Ex. Start_Date= 2013-01-01
End_Date = 2013-01-31
Campaign_Name = XXX

Formula: [Campaign_Name]+ " ("+[Start_Date]+" - "+[End_Date]+")"

Result: XXXX (Tue Jan 01 00:00:00 EST 2013 - Thu Jan 31 00:00:00 EST 2013)

How can we keep it so that what we concatenate is the same as what is being displayed?

Please let me know if you need additional information to further investigate.

Import: Text imported as very large, rounded number?

Hi Guys,

We use a database import block. In this import action we import a numeric field called [recordid].

Example:The value of this field is : '62201112040837574000001'

but when imported the value is: '62.201.112.040.837.570.000.000'

Clearly this value is not identical. How can I set Omniscope to import the exact numeric value?

Dial View: Decimal place display?

Hi - I am having problems with a Dial View where I cannot remove the number of decimal places it has decided to give me(always 3 decimals). I have also tried using number abbreviation but that doesn't help either. I am using the mean function of a number of days field. I have tried forcing the field to be both an integer or a decimal. When using decimal I have set the number of decimals to 0 in the DataManager and for the integer I tried setting the decimals to 0 from the data toolbar. This is frustrating as I have done this before and not had a problem. Is there anything I should try that I am perhaps missing?

Hi, just starting this afternoon, Omniscope is terminally slow / dead. I accepted a Java update that offered itself, but that didn't help. I have installed absolutely latest Omniscope, but that didn't help. I have switched off and on again... I have tried to copy the text on the black screen without success. I need help and fast as I have a project that depends on Omniscope

I have files that I receive daily that have the file date in the filename. Is there a way to have Omniscope use the most recent file with the base name from that directory?

For example, if I have:
DailyFile 2013-01-01
DailyFile 2012-12-30

I would want to have DataManager pick up the most recent file with "DailyFile" in the file name.

Formulae: Calculating differences in dates dynamically?

Hi,

I am using a "Record filter" block to filter for data relating to today’s date minus 14 days (Example 08/01/2013 - 25/12/2012). At the moment I am manually changing the date everyday.

Is there a way of using a formula that automatically updates every time I open the file so the output table always only contains the last 14 days.
In Excel I would use: =TODAY()-14

The source of the data is from a database in which I query at the beginning of the process. I was hoping to add a line to the SQL at this stage to only pull in the last 14 days but again I could not find an option to do so.

Please could someone let me know how I can do this?

Sources: URL source doesn't recognize CSV?

Hi,

I have a URL which produces a CSV file when I open it in any regular browser. If I add it to a URL source block, Omniscope reads it, but doesn't recognize it's a CSV, so I can't specify the separator etc.

Is it possible to force the type of source, seperator etc?

Date/Time: 2013 Dates in Week Format?

I'm having a bit of trouble getting a field organizer to automatically convert the date field into weeks. Instead of calling the last two days of the year the first week of 2013, it's marking them as 2012. Any actual days in 2013 are coming up blank. Screenshot attached.

Omniscope built in Excel Reader Date Formats

I run Omniscope on a local machine and also on a remote session on a Windows server. I have Excel installed locally but Excel is not installed on the server. If I create a data model on my local machine which points to a date in the format dd/MM/yyyy and subsequently open and refresh that model on a machine without excel then it fails as the Omniscope reader will interpret a date in the format dd/MM/yyyy as dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss. I set the reader to Excel as Text (if available). Should I by default set the reader to Omniscope if I think a file may be used on a machine which doesn't have Excel installed. Are there any limitations to the Omniscope reader? Would it be possible for the Omniscope reader to work the same way as Excel? I have attached an example and screen shots. Please note I have un-ticked the auto recognise dates.

DataManager: Database import block SQL error?

I tried to set up filters in a database import block for a text field "does not contain" a text string.

1) The query returned no records, as the SQL generated was looking for it to contain the text.

2) And while clicking between the "Configuration" "Filters" and "View SQL" tabs it has lost my field selections and gone back to select all

3) Minor UI issue, if you expand the View SQL box horizontally the text wrap extends out so that the SQL string extends across the available view. If you then make the view smaller horizontally it doesn't re-wrap the text but puts a scroll bar on the horizontal axis of box - minor problem, but what's wrong with perfection!

Venn diagram: finding category overlaps

I have data at transactional level, where several transactions can form a single invoice. Assuming one invoice has 3 transactions with a different 'product group' (out of perhaps 10 available product groups), I would like to understand how many invoices contain which combinations of product groups. e.g.

invoice 1
trx1 - 3 apples = FRUIT product group
trx2 - 2 twix bars = SNACK product group

invoice 2
trx1 - 1 orange = FRUIT product group
trx2 - 1 newspaper = NEWSPAPER product group

invoice 3
trx1 - 1 apple = FRUIT product group
trx 2 - 3 mars bars = SNACK product group
trx 3 - 2 oranges = FRUIT product group

I would like to count how many invoices have both FRUIT and SNACK product groups, in this case the overlap should equal 2 (because invoices 1 and 3 have this combination). So far, I have managed to get the number of invoices for each of the product groups separately, but with no overlap between any of them (just 0 values).

Aggregation at invoice level doesn't seem to change anything.
Any ideas?

Deployment: Exporting from free Viewer to PowerPoint?

I have an IOK dashboard hosted on an extranet which a client can login to and view using free Viewer. The problem is that they are unable to export the views to PowerPoint. Is there a setting I am missing or you don't support exporting to PowerPoint on SharePoints?

Hi - I have a workflow that publishes into an Excel file. In that Excel file I have set up a pivot-table. The source for this pivot-table is the data that Omniscope publishes on another Excel worksheet. Two of the published fields/columns should be numeric values. However, in the Excel file, the data is interpreted as text? The Excel pivot-table is not able to sum these values, and is giving all zero's as result.

I set up a pivot table and the table entries all appear blank. Hover over a cell and the value is displayed, but the table itself appears to be blank. Have I inadvertently set a white font on white background or has something else happened?

I don't recall having to provide any IP or ISP information when we installed Omniscope.

Is there something we needed to do?

I have a time field that was imported as text in Omniscope (let's call it TIME). The field contains only time without date and the format is HH:mm:ss.

Based on the TIME field , I need a formula to convert it into a new text field (let's call it TIME_OF_THE_DAY) as follows:

If TIME is between 00:00:00 and 06:59:59 then TIME_OF_THE_DAY field value should be 'night'
If TIME is between 07:00:00 and 11:59:59 then TIME_OF_THE_DAY field value should be 'morning'
If TIME is between 12:00:00 and 17:59:59 then TIME_OF_THE_DAY field value should be 'afternoon'
If TIME is between 18:00:00 and 23:59:59 then TIME_OF_THE_DAY field value should be 'evening'

How can I do it? Can you suggest a script?

Scheduler: Install Scheduler on a different server machine?

Hi - Our customer bought the Server License and would like to install the Scheduler service on a different server machine than the machine running Omniscope Server, how can we do that?

Their idea is that the Scheduler should not run on the same machine as the file configuration interface, i.e. the client part (the Omniscope editor?).

Refresh: Excel refresh vs Omniscope refresh?

Hi, I'm new to Omniscope so apologies if there already is a thread for this, I couldn't find it. I have an .xls file with multiple worksheets where one sheet grabs data via query and another sheet puts this into the format I need to upload to FTP for a certain customer.

I have added the file, using the single sheet I need to publish, but the refresh function does not refresh all pages and not all data on the sheet I need to publish are available in Omniscope. Do you have a suggestion how I can make this work?

Performance: Multi-field in-View Aggregation?

Is there any way to cancel the operation when a Table view is producing an aggregated view. I have a Table view, I set it to selected data only, selected the 4 columns I wanted to aggregate by, set the Data Subset view scope back to 'Filtered Data In' and it's taking ages to aggregate. Is there a way to cancel this operation so I can maybe change the aggregation or do something different altogether. All I have is the "Please wait, changing to table view of filtered data" message on the screen and I can't stop it.

Hi there - We have an IOK file that is only used as DataManager file. The number of DM blocks is large (around 50) but the number of records in Omniscope (the blue block) is only 50k and 7 fields. It takes a very long time for the file to open and when it is open it reacts very slow.

It uses up to 10GB RAM to open on a 20GB RAM 64bit server?

Question: does the number of DM blocks affect the iok files performance? Even when there is hardly any data in?

Deployment: WebStart - security issue?

We've recently had an update of our desktop software and, since then, I haven't been able to run my reports with WebStart. I get an error message:

Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system
Unsigned resource: http://downloads.visokio.com/omni27...

I don't pretend to understand the detailed message, but it contains the lines:

which looks like the sort of thing that would give our IT Risk people a major problem. Is there really a requirement for "*all* permissions" on my machine?

Edit 3rd Dec: I've spoken with some support people here and, although they weren't able to help directly, they mentioned that the "Unsigned" parts of the error message (newly highlighted above) may cause a problemwith our systems here.

Edit 5th Dec: Fwiw, the aforementioned "update of our desktop software" contained the following: Upgrade JRE to the new version 6u33

Scheduler: How to call/run an external batch file?

Hi - I am trying to run an external batch file process after Omniscope Server Scheduler has opened and saved an Omniscope IOK file.

Is there any way to do this in using the automated Omniscope Server Scheduler Task List actions?

I have been trying to use the Command action but this does not seem to work ??
