The problem is that I need to weight my mean values to arrive at the correct figure. Is there a simple solution?

Hello - I am trying to download the 30 day trial version of Visokio. I can download the file, but once I extract the file and try to the open the app, it say the app is damaged and cannot be opened. I have downloaded the tar file a second time, but got the same response. Has this happened for anyone else, and do they know a solution, so I can try out the tool?

Date/Time: Sorting Category filters by Date?

Hi there, I have a set of data which is date orientated. When I make the date a category in the filter, I see the list of dates in correct date order 02-13, 03-13 etc and I can select the dates which i do / do not want to show. The problem I have is when I change the display from 02-13 to Feb-13. The filter then works alphabetically.

I have not found a way of re-sorting the filter to let me choose the order I want. This is a problem when I want to use pane's side by side, with the oldest date at the top rather than the alpha date at the top. Can anyone suggest a way of doing this?

Bar/Line View: Labels both on AND inside bars?

In version 2.7 when you stack a bar you get the values in the bars however if you un-tick the "Show value labels" it removes the labels from both inside the bars and at the end of the bars. Is there a way to remove the values in the bars (the stacked labels) and leave the values at the end of the bars?

Hi - I'm writing script code for an HTML table in a Content View. I'd like to have the number of columns of the table be variable depending on the result of the following:

Which is the correct syntax to include the ncolloc variable in the following COLSPAN definition??

Words with accents cut in tagcloud

Hi,

We think there is a bug in the tagCloud view. The words that contains accents are cut and are not displayed correctly.
See the attached picture. The biggest word "Vica" should be "Cívica".
Another point is that spaces are not respected. For instance "Banca Cívica" is displayed as 2 individual words.

Merge/Join: many to many issue?

Hi there, I am trying to map two datasets together but getting a "many to many" error. I am actually looking to create a one to many relationship. I want to LOOKUP a field from data block A to data block B, mapping to pair of columns.

In dataset B I have multiple rows with the same lookup value found in dataset A. I want the value to repeat in dataset B wherever there is a match. I don't want to create many to many relationships.

Any ideas? Please see attached mockup as it's probably clearer.

Web View: Embed self-hosted video files?

Hi there- I am creating a client presentation demonstrating advertising of competitors and I have my filter as the competitor title. I have embeded images into the file to demonstrate press and magazine ads. I have created a web link to demonstrate online video ads which are hosted on an open webpage.

However, my stumbling block is adding some video files of TV ads which I have had to download. Is there a way I can embed these video files or could you even suggest somewhere I could web host them and link back to Omniscope in the same way I have for the online video ads mentioned earlier?

Swift reply would be greatly appreciated as I need to finish the presentation tomorrow (7th May)

Scheduler: event-driven automation via watchfolder?

Hi Guys - I would like my Omniscope IOK file to run not from on a time schedule, but from a file drop. I have found the 'wait for file' command, but can't work out how I make this a chain reaction?

Mac: Import - Excel formula-calculated decimal values as integers?

I need to read/import an Excel file in which few cells contain decimal numbers calculated using an Excel formula. Omniscope reads/imports the values contained in those cells as if they were integers... not taking into account decimal position? i.e. a value calculated and displayed in Excel as 58096.6 is received/imported as 580966?

Please see the attached Excel file and the Ominscope file that show how different cells are processed. If you type the decimal number in a cell Omniscope read it as a decimal number. If you use a formula in a cell to produce exactly the same value Omniscope believe the cell is an integer and produce wrong result.

Can you please advise on how to solve this issue? I cannot believe Omniscope cannot process calculated value correctly.

I've been trying to create a web start launch link to .iok files on a website and I've successfully managed to create a download link to access the file through a URL that looks like:

http://client.dev.domain.com/download/?m=[guid]&u=[int]&c=[int]

The above URL lets me directly download the file from the browser. The mimetype of the file is application/octet-stream.

When I try and use this URL in the online webstart link builder I get the following error:

Unrecognised or unsupported file "http://client.dev.domain.com/download/?m=[guid]&u=[int]&c=[int]". You may need to upgrade your software or purchase a key and activate. Please check our website at www.visokio.com.

I use an Apache web server (version 2.2), and use mod_xsendfile to serve up the file for download.

It would be great if you could provide some guidance as to what is missing or wrong.

Dates/Times: organising weekly data by Mondays?

Deployment: Web Start- Viewer not launching on Apple?

Hello, -Some of our clients who are using Apple laptops are encountering problems to open our Web Start deployed dashboards.

When the client clicks on the "Launch" Button the Web Start and JNLP Files are downloaded, but there the free Viewer application is not starting?

We tried hosting the Web Start deployments from both our server and the Visokio server. But neither did result in any differences.

Do we have to change settings for Apple users? Could this problem be connected to Java updates? What options regarding solutions do we have?

Good Morning - I'm trying to use a specific font that is not one of 4 fonts used by default, and even though the font works well in the Desktop and Full viewer edition, it doesn't work with the Online Universal version. Any reason why this would be?

I'm sorry but I was not able to find to fix the following Visokio behaviour:
When I export Omniscope data to an Excel file, all columns containing numbers and defined/data typed as numeric are exported to Excel as text (left aligned). Is there any way to fix it?

I see that thread is closed, but the problem still exist. What I meant was that the correct Java version was used by Omniscope. However, we are still experiencing the following problem:

Only for the first week in 2013, converting numeric value '201301' to a datevalue (format yyyyww) results in null...
for all other weeks it works.

Any ideas?

Hi there - I am trying to convert a numeric value into a date value. The numeric is for example 201244, which means the year 2012 and week 44. I am using the Field Organiser in DataManager, and changing the field data type from Numeric to Date/Time and specifying both the the input and output date format both to "yyyyww". The thousand seperator is removed.

The result is that some values are set to null and I can't figure out why this is? Just to be sure, is this the correct way to do this or should I use something else? We often use this type of editing and it normally works just fine.

Network View: Labeling nodes based on value?

I've tried to label a node based on the value of a field. It appears that the value that appears on the label takes into account all records as opposed to the filtered records only. Is there a way to show the value based on the filtered records?

Date/Time: Week 1 2013 in Week Format?

Hi,

I am having a problem with changing week one of 2013 from text field into a date/time field.

As you can see in this first screenshot, I already have my year-week data as a text field.

I would like to change this into a date/time field because I'm doing a weekly update for a client since 2011 and the 2011 and 2012 data/time data contains a date/time field and no text field. All data has to have the same type of field of course. So there is no option to leave this data in text field for 2013... When I change my year-week field into date/time, it changes all data except the first week of 2013, it leaves those cells blank... (See image below)

I do not have version 2.8 yet because it is still in its testing phase. Neather can I use the function you have mentionned in another discussion because that will leave my column in a text field.

Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Or should I install the 2.8 version to be sure that it works? I am just a little bit scared that it will change my data of 2011-2012 because of some new options.

Installation: New Java version causing problems?

Hi all,

Since we've installed Java 7 version 11, the Java process on the Windows machine is eating CPU and memory. Even trying to open a block in Omniscope takes over 5 minutes. Problem occurs in both Omniscope 2.7 and 2.8 Alpha. Is there something we can do or should we return to a different Java version?

Date/Time: re- format durations from seconds to minutes?

Hi, I am having an issue with the time format. Specially when calculating time spent on the websites, from Google Analytics, I get all the times in seconds when I export the data. I would like to display them in minutes, the problem is that it could be more than a minute, lets say 120 seconds, so when I use the "ss" formatting as an input value and then in the output (as I want it in minutes) I will use "mm".. that is my problem, it is all planned for formatting purposes but not for this type of calculations when it comes to time.

What I am intending to have is to display instead of 150 seconds, it will show up as 02:30, or 00:02:30. I hope it makes sense. Is there a solution for that? I am currently using 2.7 b442.

I'm trying to achieve the following IF statement:

IF(

)

Is it possible to declare/use the value in the condition field as a a condition in the IF statement?

However, after installing 2.8-alpha b473, I do not see that path. I have:

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Visokio

as my only path related to Visokio.

Table View: Column/field headers multi-line text wrap?

I've got a fairly wide table and was wondering if the field headings could be wrapped? I can re-size the column width, but the field headings get hidden unless you hover over the heading itself

Scheduler: Log files relating to Task completion or error?

We are using the Scheduler as a service and have a few daily tasks scheduled. How can we see that all of these task are running properly in the log file? When I view the log file, I don't see that these tasks have completed or running into errors on a daily basis.
