If a Kenshoo connector is of interest we would be interested in identifying the key requirements. How do you see the connector working? What options would you like? Please provide us with as much detail as possible. It might be useful to describe the connector functionality int terms of which options you would like to see, for example if I was describing the Atlas connector I might say:

- An option to select the Agency/Branch/Client/Advertiser.
- Optional filtering by Action tag/Media plan/Buy/Cost package/Placement.
- An option to select the date range.
- Dimension/metric selection.

Any information you provide will be forwarded to Kenshoo and will also be used when the connector is developed.

One of our clients is looking at the possibility of opening up access to Omniscope Mobile reports to a wider group of users. Their business is split into a number of different Business Areas, and every report has the ability to filter to just show data for a specified Business Area.

The current users are all authorised to view data for the entire business. However, the users that they want to open the reports up to will only be authorised to see the data for the business area that they belong to. All access is currently via the Liferay Omniscope portlet. I'm a using the data validation block in omniscope and it would be useful for the following:

1.To have the ability to have more than one custom rule
2.To be able to link rules broken or custom rules defined to specific reports emailed.

For instance currently (unless you use Error,Success and warning as separate flags for email reports then you have three) you cannot trigger a certain email report by a specific custom/schema/rules failed.It would be useful to say for instance if you have two column a list of names and values, if values >1000 and names is blank to be emailed separately

Of course i can add in multiple validation blocks however if you are doing 10+ validation this makes data manager look messy

My idea would be to have either a numbering scheme or name for each of the custom rules, rules, schema and then in the reporting each email categorized could specify which numbered or named custom rule or schema it should be triggered by

I have looked around for an application wide setting that would allow me to turn off "Thousand Separator" by default for numbers instead of having it on by default. 90% of the time we don't require it and it can cause some annoyance when trying to merge data sets together if you don't realise one side has the thousand separator and one side does not.

So I just want to know if I am just not seeing the setting or is it that it isn't possible to turn this off as yet?

If a long task (e.g. 6 hours) is running, the log is only adapted at the beginning of the task and at the end, we would prefer that every step of the chain action is logged as it happens, instead after finishing the task. We publish a lot of PDF files, but as the number of PDF files we have to generate is growing we are investigating the best way to publish 100+ PDF files.

When using a batch output to generate 100 PDF files, Omniscope opens the template file 100 times, that also means the data is loaded 100 times and 100 times a PDF is generated.

As the opening of the template file and loading of the data takes almost a minute per file, we would like to speed up the proces. If we could keep the template file open (with the data loaded) then omniscope could generate the same 100 pdf files is less time.

Is this yet possible or is there a good workaround?

I've been using SFTP's with a username and password but recently someone sent over details to a SFTP with RSA key as the login.
I can access the SFTP in FileZilla and manually throw up files but it would be handy to be able to upload straight from an omniscope flow.
I can probably ask them to give me a username and password credentials like other SFTP's but it would be useful to have a bit more flexibility.
I don't believe there is a feature for this currently unless I'm missing something glaring?

We would like to introduce an idea. Working the Scheduler we would like to have an overview of all the tasks, the last scheduled run and if it was successful.

At the moment, if you sort on a field that is Grouped, the sort occurs at granular un-grouped level and hence is not useful for the end-user. I find that I hardly ever use the grouping functionality because of this.

Can we make it so that when you click on a column that is grouped the sort occurs at the grouped level and then when you expand the table (and click again) the sorting will then occur at the expanded level?

This functionality, although simple, would make a massive difference in terms of usability and report design impacting on almost all of our reports.

I'm looking to update a SQL table daily with new data. Obviously an Append would do this job if the data to be added was always only new data.

The problem comes when some values from previous days have been corrected or updated and these also need pushing to the same database.

I have a solution that compares the last few days data (from the database) with the same number of days from the source and if it's new it Appends, if it's corrected it Updates. The solution is adequate if a bit slow for large data sets as it appears to publish line by line and requires the last few days from the database to be pulled back into the Omniscope process.

My idea/suggestion would be to include another option in the Database output block that uses the Merge command.
If anyone else has solutions for this that work better please let me know. Not sure if this is possible or even has enough people wanting it?

I am aware of %AppData%\Local\Visokio\Omniscope\UserThemes\for saved tab themes.
I am also aware of being able to distribute ILF files to add to %AppData%\Local\Visokio\Omniscope\LayoutModes.xml

If you open a new Omniscope window, currently there are two 'new file' opening options - DataManager workspace and DataExplorer workspace, but it would be nice to have the option to open a new (Client 1) file. Perhaps in the space available next to Demos?

I would like a default Client 1file to open with:
- a default cover
- a style guide tab listing colours, fonts etc.
- a tab with some sample views showing the general design approach for that client
- a checklist tab specific to the client e.g. check at 1024*768 resolution
- CategoryDataColourPresets and ContinuousDataColourPresets presets reflecting the style guide
- adding a new tab would have other style compliant options for that client (not just blank/text only/ datamanager)
- the file would include some of the default images already loaded in (e.g. logos)

The benefit of this would be that the files which we deliver would be more consistent, and it would be much less effort per file to ensure that basic things like title sizes are acceptable to clients who have to work with smaller screens.

Ideally, the default Client 1 file would be hosted on our network share / intranet so that the master file could be kept up to date, and not installed per machine. Is importing an FTP file directly to Omniscope much quicker than downloading the file to your own PC, unzipping and then importing it as a flat file into Omniscope? File size is 500MB. This is the first time I've dealt with a file of this size within Omniscope and when I tried importing the 500MB file on my local drives, it started hanging after importing 20% or so.

It will be good if rather than a link to a local HTML file, we can embed the source code of the HTML file into the iok. Reason being, I am rolling out the iok to multiple users and I have to drop the HTML file onto each computer the IOK will run on. If I want to update the HTML file, then I need to roll out the file onto all computers again - rather long-winded and not user friendly.

So we have variables and two each of geog/bu/time filters which can be shown on the devices view / RHS sidebar.

Idea:
- allow the insertion of spaces / line breaks.
- allow colouring of devices by group and adding group titles.
- allow devices groups to be collapsed.

Even if I use a different device view for each group of devices, it doesn't allow me to collapse them neatly, which is often necessary given screen size limits.

Ideal use case (see attached illustration):
- key device groups and/or filters are expanded when users open tabs.
- superuser device groups and/or filters can be expanded when users wish to utilise them.
- device group titles and colours/breaks quickly communicate what filters are for with less need for instruction.

I have a pivot table displayed using Pivot View version 2 with splits on the vertical axes of 3 fields. The lay-out of the view is far from optimal, with a lot of white spaces in between the rows.

Next to that, I cannot create a single row with the sum of all values above.

I have a Bar/Line View where I measure averages.

Defining on which field to weight the average is working fine, but when we switch the value to another field, Omniscope loses the weighting of the initial field. Going back to the initial value measure, we have to set the weighting again.
This is not ideal as we want our users not to worry about this.

Would it be possible to define the weighting settings per field in the Field Settings (the Ctrl+F menu, not sure what the English menu name is)

I could be wrong, but it seems that when a file is opened in HTML5 web version, the export data option (represented as a cloud icon in the top right) for each data view is only available when the view toolbar is set to show (rather than e.g. pop out) for that view.

If I'm wrong, please let me know what I should be doing differently. Otherwise, I think it'd be useful if these two functions were uncoupled - for example it could be problematic if I wanted a file to be viewable by end users both in HTML5 web version and in the Omniscope Desktop IOK free Viewer version, since either the web version user would be unable to export data or the Desktop IOK free Viewer user would see a more cluttered presentation. It's only a small thing but would make life a little easier.

In the DataManager operations list, there is a nice operation: Field Filter, that can remove columns that have no values.

Is there a way that the Table View can do the same thing?

For example, I have 4 fields: Client, Max, Min, Med. Client B only have field "Max" populated. When client B is selected in the filters, the Table view would only display 2 columns: Client and Max.

It would hide/not display Columns Min and Med as there is nothing populated for the selected data subset.

Is this possible?
