I have a list of options (yes/no) I will like to be able to drill down into on the data explorer.

So for example:-

Cat one Type
Van
Car

Type two
Transit (type of van)
ford (type of car)

Type three

Escort (Type of Ford, Type of Cat)


I would like when I first open dataexplorer for only Cat one options to be avaliable, Then when I click on an option, only the relivant options from cat 2 to show. And then the same into level 3.

Is this possible?

On the sidebar, I'm trying to get one field with the category view to show radio buttons rather than checkboxes (so only one value can be selected at any time).

I don't want to use a point slider because I want to be able to see the different options.

Is it possible?

Is there a way to completely hide the tab headings and menu bar (file, style etc) at the top in data viewer?

At the moment i have them hidden but when you mouse over the top of the view they appear. If possible i'd like to completely remove them ( links to other tabs on my dashboard are within content views).

As you may or may not be aware we have recently removed the Google Translate operation (although it will appear if you are already using it in a DataManager workflow). This is because from the 1st December Google translate will cease to be a free service, and Google will begin charging for it.

From tomorrow's 2.7 release we have added a new operation: "Translate text". This should be used in place of the old Google translate operation wherever possible. The translate text operation now uses the Microsoft BING translation service. This is free to use (at the moment). We have also created this operation so that we can add additional translation services in the future, for example we may add the Google translate paid service as an additional option.

The Microsoft BING translation service appears to work well, however we haven't had the opportunity to test it with large amounts of data or spend much time verifying the translation results. One useful piece of functionality that we have included is the ability to auto-detect the source language, meaning you can simply point the translate text operation at a text field without having to specify the language of the data. This would be particularly useful when you have data made up of several languages (for example the results of a twitter search).

Please let us know if you encounter any problems using the translate text operation. Also let us know if you know of any other translation services (free or paid) that we could include.

I have visited the url and it states the following:

Does this mean that Google Translate is now not possible within Omniscope without purchasing a licence/paying to do so? I guess this also means that I must now translate elsewhere manually and load this into my dashboard separately?

I am also confused because I have another Google Translate box in the same DataManager that has a lot more data running through it and it has not come up with any issues at all despite this being run second?

The network view is useful, however the relative sizing of the nodes limits its use in terms of the insight that can be gained from it. As an example, I've got a network view with node sizing set to the sum of a field - the values vary considerably from node to node (from 1 to several thousand), however the size of the different nodes is not noticeably different. This could potentially be fixed by including functionality to adjust the level of variation in the size of the nodes via a slider as with the map view? Would it be possible to get this included as part of a future release?

I have four /five graphs on a tab.All are stacked by same field.I would like to be able to have a colour key at the bottom of the tab (I.e say in a content views ??) , instead of having a colour key at the bottom of each graph.

I.e Becasue the stack has quite a few categories ,having a key on each graph confusing the tab and i would prefer to have one main key at the bottom of the tab which is bigger and allows more easy view of the colour key.

Is there any way to do this ?
