When I use SUBSET function it treats them as 2 different subsets which in fact are 4 different subsets.

I have just been asked to work out a moving average for quarterly no. of patients, which I have done quickly in a content view using the formula

(SUBSET_SUM([All E Pat.], SUBSET([Quarter], "II Q 2011"))+

SUBSET_SUM([All E Pat.], SUBSET([Quarter], "III Q 2011"))+

SUBSET_SUM([All E Pat.], SUBSET([Quarter], "IV Q 2011"))+

SUBSET_SUM([All E Pat.], SUBSET([Quarter], "I Q 2012"))) /4

and then changing the dates for the next average.

It's simple but not elegant. Is there any way to get an automatic field to update each quarter. I know that the format for the field "Quarter" is not a date format and probably needs to be to get an automatic recalculation, but am not sure what the best way is.

I am pretty sure that I will have to caculate the rolling average for market share in the future, which would involve a much longer formula as we use aggregated data and appended files.

Any ideas gratefully appreciated.

I have a graph which represents 3 types of cancer (indications) and am using a filter to remove one indication which is no longer of interest. However, when I remove the indication in the filter the colour key still shows it in the graph.

Is there any way of removing it from the colour key?

I had an iok file that was working fine yesterday. I had created dashboards in it and everything was working well. This morning I made some minor updates, saved the file and clicked load to update the input data for the dashboard. It is now coming up with the attached error. I've tried restarting Omniscope and I'm still getting the issue.

The issue is how can we distribute these reports now, with the same flexibility that the Viewer allows? Their IT have said they want to limit the software/apps that are installed onto all desktops, so we can't install it across the board. Is there a web based version of Omniscope Viewer? We can suggest installing Viewer on to some deskstops, but this would defeat the hot desk set up.

I need to take an average of FTE splited by activity type which I have derived by

SUBSET_SUM([Fte],SUBSET([Activity Type],"ADM"))/NUMVALUE(DATETOTEXT(TODAY,"MM)

But this values will be static for activity type for ADM there are multiple activity types for which i have done a nested IF condition but I need to get some thing where the average can be dynamically by filtering other fields in my Bar view.

For example
ADM total average is 29.50
If i filter it for Dept as "X dept" the, average should change to 15.54
If I filter it for Level1 as "Y level" then average should change to 12.24

Please let me know if there is any way I can achieve this view.

As you may be aware the BING search services in Omniscope (web search, news search, image search and video search) will no longer be available from the 1st August 2012. On or after this date any searches undertaken will no longer return results. This will effect any Omniscope files that use a "Web search", "News search", "Image search" or "Video search" either as a source or inside a DataManager.

The reason it will no longer be available is because Microsoft have moved all their search services to the Azure Marketplace.

In Omniscope 2.8 you WILL be able to continue to use these searches, but you will need to sign up to the Azure datamarket and create an application key, which you will need to enter every time you make a search. To obtain an application key:

- Go to https://datamarket.azure.com/ and signup.
- Subscribe to the Bing search API and create an application key. There are various subscription options available. Up to 5000 searches a month is free, but you need to pay a monthly fee if you need to run more searches.

After signing up you will need to enter your application key into the search options panel in order to execute a search. All the other options remain the same, but there may be some differences in the fields in the result data.

We will NOT be back-porting this change to Omniscope 2.7, so if you wish to continue using this functionality you must use Omniscope 2.8. Omniscope 2.8 is available now to Alpha partners. If you wish to use Omniscope 2.8 and you are not an alpha partner please contact us at support@visokio.com.

I am using the runningtotal() function and I can't get it to work exactly as I want it. I have a column of countries, corresponding suppliers and amounts spend with each supplier in each country. I have aggregated the the table by country, supplier and um of amount and ordered it by country (asc), amount (desc) so the results look like this:

UK, M&S, 1000
UK, IBM, 950
UK, Tesco, 850
Germany, VW, 2000
Germany, Audi, 1950
Germany, Mercedes, 1800

I want to put a running sum on this aggregated view so it sums the amounts in spend order eg:


UK, M&S, 1000, 1000
UK, IBM, 950, 1950
UK, Tesco, 850, 2800
Germany, VW, 2000, 2000
Germany, Audi, 1950, 3950
Germany, Mercedes, 1800, 5750

When I so the runningtotal I can't get it to sum in the correct order. How can I do this?

I have a strage merge issue (again), Or possibly I have misunderstood how it works. I have merged two sides of sets of data (as attached) and asked it to bring in all merged records and all non matching on both sides. I thought this would then show me all records from both sides. Bring me a total. So if I had 10 records on one said and 11 on the other regardless of how many match I should have 21 records?

This is not happening. Have I misunderstood. Both sides are ints.

I've got a strange situation on our new server. In different datamanagers I use email-outputs. In some datamanager the emailoutput works without a problem, in other datamanagers the emailoutput doesn't work. If gives the following error:

Connection has been shutdown: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Received fatal alert: bad_record_mac

What could be the solution? The settings in both outputs are identical. Thank you.]]>
